Another great experience of Italian cooking in america. We came by this restaurant by chance and so glad we did. We knew it would be good when the whole restaurant was full. We sat at the bar as no tables were free and loved being at the bar as you could see the chefs at work. I ordered the sausage... More

Excellent italian food. Cozy little restaurant, a little expensive but worth it every penny. Delicious risotto!

Pane e Vino in Union Street Pacific Heights is an established fairly traditional Italian restaurant frequented by locals, so you know it is good. The service was impeccable, as was the food and wine - we didn't have a reservation but were accommodated without fuss. A warm and inviting atmosphere, reasonably priced - a cosy haven on a cold San... More

very comfortable and welcoming neighborhood spot. Italian food that is above average, very reasonably priced. Extensive menu with many daily specials. Wonderful stuffed artichoke, very solid traditionals such as pollo marinato allo griglia, scaloppine di vitello ai funghi. Only real negative - your main course will likely appear 5 minutes after you get your starters, while you are just enjoying... More

Located on Union Street, this is a small, local Italian restaurant with good food. However, our experience was not great because the service was not very friendly, nor attentive. We arrived for an early dinner so the restaurant was not yet crowded, but the service (or lack of) was very mediocre. While not a bad choice...I am not sure if... More

We just wanted a takeaway pizza, and found Pane e Vino had good reviews so popped aling to see if they'd make us one. The chap at the entrance said they would and that we could wait at the bar. I'm not a fan of Italian food and it's my partner's favourite, but both of us could have happily stayed... More

Authentic Italian hospitality, food and wine. What a fantastic little restaurant. We were welcomed to a table and glad we arrived when we did as the tables quickly filled. The waiter was bright, cheerful and welcoming. Fresh Italian bread with olive oil was delivered to the table. The bread was warm, crisp and plentiful and cooked in the clay oven.... More

We snagged a reservation on Open Table at the last minute early Friday night. We were seated immediately. The tables are a bit crowded but the atmosphere is lively and authentic. The service was prompt and the pasta was delicious. We ordered a side of spinach which was enough for 3. We shared the tiramisu which was outstanding. It is... More

Nice menu of standard Italian dishes, including rabbit. They also have pizza. The food was well prepared and service was very professional. We have eaten here many times and will come back again.

A nice neighborhood restaurant. The wait staff was attentive and, on a busy night, was hustling. The menu was extensive as were the list of specials. I had the veal scallopini and my wife had the ravioli special. Good wine list and the Montepulciano d Abruzzo was excellent. We split a canneloni for desert with coffee. Overall, a very nice... More
