I had a very good burger and a few local beers in the nice bar. Very cosy atmosphere and very good service.

We tried this place based on the name Sears, the same last name of my partner and ended up eating breakfast there for the duration of the trip. Service all three mornings was fast. We found waitstaff came by the appropriate number of times during the visit. We tried different food items each visit - the variations of eggs Benedict... More

Always a must eat spot for breakfast when we are in San Francisco. Good location up from Union Square. All the coffee you can handle. We order the small Swedish pancakes to spilt for 4 as a breakfast appetizer. Veggie omelet very good with veggies still crisp. Quick & friendly service. Line can form on street but it moves quickly.... More

We were staying in a hotel near by on union square. We decided to try sears fine food out for breakfast on our first morning and we kept going back for the next four mornings after that. The breakfast was unbelievable and the coffee was super too. Service was fast efficient and friendly too. Would highly recommend sears for a... More

Some say that coming to a fine food place for a burger may be a waste but, wow, it was a good burger, I had the Fat Burger which is a double, lovely, cooked just as I asked, seasoned well and it tasted really good. One of the more expensive burgers I had on my trip but it was well... More

It's both stepping back into time, and enjoying one of the best breakfasts you can have in San Francisco. You will NOT be disappointed. :-)

We were staying at the St Francis on Union Square and knew we did not want to eat breakfast in the hotel. We also didn't want to eat at some generic chain. We had walked by Sears many times, looked at the menu, and decided this was exactly the kind of place we wanted to go for breakfast. Sears has... More

A very cosy place with a great, American atmosphere. The staff was very helpful and nice. The food was amazing, We had steaks that were really tasty. The place is located very close to Union Square which is a bonus as well. I would definitely dine there again and highly recommend you do too!

Across the street from the elder statesman, the Sir Francis Drake Hotel, stands a fabulous restaurant, Sears. Since 1938, this quaint spot has been serving fine food and drink to many satisfied customers. Whenever I go to SF (usually on Thanksgiving), I have at least one breakfast at Sears. They have a variety of breakfast items. All are good. I... More
