I've been regularly visiting San Francisco since the late 70's. Whenever I'm here I try to have breakfast or lunch here! They make the best pancakes! They're famous for their silver dollar pancakes. The restaurant has a pleasant atmosphere. The location is great and easy to get to by cable car. Don't miss Sears! The restaurant, not the store!

I was taken by a friend to Sears Fine Foods for breakfast. He told me that the Union Square restaurant was a local institution. The service is no-nonsense. Get them in, get them out. The tables are tightly packed, but the service was professional. The breakfast menu was typical big city offerings, with the exception of two items: the 18... More

Went for breakfast on a Sunday. We got there a little early (before 9 AM) which is good because we were able to be seated right away, but by the time we left the line was out the door and around the block. It is a neat little place with a very historical feel and lots of antiques and portraits... More

Have the Sears breakfast pancakes - you won't leave hungry! A cool old school restaurant with loads of character.

Dark paneling and high ceilings greet you as you enter. Service with Eddie is friendly and courteous though he did seem easily confused re. Who was ordering what and initially forgot to bring the wine for which he was quite apologetic. The food when it arrived was very tasty and well presented.

Cool place. Nice atmosphere and good menu. Good honest breakfast place and recommended. A tad pricey perhaps but would return. Service very attentive too.

We saw the long lines at Sears, around the corner from our Union Square hotel. When the posted menu showed they had Swedish pancakes we had to go. We got up extra early so we would not be in the long line in the cold. Glad we went as the interior is full of items that reminded my friend and... More

This place was across the road from our hotel so really convenient. It had been recommended to us by a friend living in SF. Our server was excellent, friendly and professional. I got the pancakes which were good. Crispy bacon was served on the side. Looks like an institution in SF and glad we got the chance to eat there... More

Sears makes a wide variety of breakfasts, probably best known for their pancakes which are delicious. Eggs and other breakfast fare is tasty, too. There can be a bit of a wait to get in but they turn the tables quickly without making you feel rushed to leave.
