Outstanding little restaurant. Probably the best part of the restaurant was working with the wait staff and the chef. We had a picky crew, everyone wanted something a bit different, even off the menu. The staff was sooooo accommodating to work with us. Almost, whatever we wanted they were willing to oblige. So if you want a very fancy, expensive... More

First time at this restaurant and I found it very poor. I ordered the pork tenderloin, which supposedly had fresh mozzarella but didn't find any, to be just average. As for service, it wasn't very good. The waiters would rather talk to one another instead of actually making sure that the customers were taken care of. Trying to get a... More

Small place, very friendly. Nice, authentic Italian food, worth every penny. We enjoyed our evening here; next time we'll definitely come again!

This was such a great restaurant. Small, unique, and traditional Italian. Food was superb and service was pleasant, personable, fast, and above many others. I would love to return and have more Italian seafood. Patio is great too if you can tolerate a little breeze.

I absolutely loved my visit to this little nook! The chef and server were very accommodating, friendly, and fun. On top of that the food was delicious. We even got free dessert (fruit soaking in champagne). A truly magical experience. Bellissimo!

My wife and I were visiting San Francisco and asked some of the locals for the name of place they would go to. Caffe Macaroni was mentioned by more than one so we had to check it out. The owners wife was seated next to us and we struck up a wonderful conversation about everything, including how she met Mario... More

A compact and cute restaurant that offers genuine Italian dishes, not some Americanised version of the real thing. Tasty bean soup followed by Porchetta. Friendly service. Tried to go back for a second visit but it was closed (Labor Day).

This place is great! Came here with my wife and kids for lunch on a recommendation from family that are locals. A little tricky to find walking, but worth it!! The setting is very cool. We had lunch outside which was fun, but next time I think I would eat indoors. Now our waiter who was very nice, attentive and... More

We were walking in North Beach and looking for a place to have lunch, when we came across this very small restaurant. This Neapolitan Cuisine, open since 1990, had only about six tables indoors and six tables outside. We sat at the outside seating. We first noticed that a motorized trolley stopped right in front of this restaurant. I looked... More

Nothing to do with Italian-American cuisine! This is real Italian cuisine! On our first night in SF, we decided to stop in this small Italian restaurant and we were so glad!! The chef/owner Mario is so friendly and careful. We had linguini nere alle vongole veraci and vongole with white wine (Falanghina). A delight!! The price is moderate and the... More
