Amazing food and the beers were tasty too! It was right across from the W hotel which was a nice plus.

If you are in the area, this is a comfortable spot. We were staying at the W and wanted a beer after the Giants game. Tapas are pricey. Tried an IPA with cocoa nibs and vanilla... The chef has pairings on the menu of charcuterie and beer.

Visited on a Friday around early evening. My friends and I were staying across the street at the W and wanted to have some drinks and light snacks after a day of sightseeing. The bar area was packed with a happy hour/post-work crowd. Service was pretty terrible at the beginning but as the crowd started to thin out around 7pm,... More

The beer selection was very good. The IPA was really good. A little pricey for a draft. The tappas menu was interesting but expensive. The staff was very will trained and easy to work with. I will go again and order something beside the tappas.

Servers and bartenders were so nice and helpful. We wanted recommendations for places to eat and then wound up eating there because we were hungry and tired. Glad we did. Four ladies shared a bunch of small plates and they were all excellent. Well priced too.

Went on a work dinner here while the beer was good the food left a lot to be desired. The place was packed. All of us at the table ordered burgers and all of us were disappointed. They were over cooked. Much better burgers to be found around the city.

During my visit to San Francisco, I wanted to visit some of its brew pubs. My visit to Thirsty Bear was a bit of a surprise. First, check online for their operating hours. I visited on a Sunday, figuring that I would sample their beer while eating lunch. I didn’t realize that they don’t open until 5pm on Sundays. (I... More

We had a great experience. The food and beer options were delicious and unique. We selected 2 tapas and the paella of the day which was plenty of food for 2 people.

Staying in SoMa

Neighborhood Profile
SoMa
South of Market (SoMa), has an urban and sophisticated vibe, but you're more likely to find big nightclubs and lots of industrial loft residences than you are to find boutique shopping. Although it’s the epicenter for tech startups in the city, visitors will be able to do more than just business - museums, top quality restaurants, and the San Francisco Giants now call this neighborhood home. Most of its freeway-sized streets may not capture the same character as other neighborhoods in the city, but pockets of charm, like South Park, can still be found throughout its side streets.
