Great selection of beers

Staying across the street, this was very convenient for a drink and food. Tried the beer tasting option, over 10 tasting glasses, most of them great tasting. Food ok but nothing special. Go there for the beer selection.

We had a great experience. The food and beer options were delicious and unique. We selected 2 tapas and the paella of the day which was plenty of food for 2 people.

This was our second visit in 3 days, and we loved the first experience so much, I guess we were expecting a repeat. I will never again expect a good kitchen staff on a holiday weekend. (It is Memorial Day.) The meal was quite different. This is a tapas restaurant, so some items were good, and some not so good.... More

Just finished an excellent meal at this handy beer pub and tapas bar on Howard Street. Wonderful small bites and organic victuals, accompanied by excellent organic beer. Don't miss the Howard street IPA! Great service, smiling waitress, great evening!

We went to the Thirsty Bear for my godson's surprise graduation party. We had our own area upstairs with enough room for everyone to get around and mingle. There were 60 - 75 people in attendance. The appetizers were good along with the dinner. It was a great place to catch up on old times with old family friends.

We chose this place because it was close, but the food was actually very good. They have a huge selection of beers and a couple of people in our group chose the sampler and we're glad they did. For starters were ordered Tapas- fried Calamari, empanadas , ceviche. All were great. I chose a burger for my main. Good choice.... More

I am very disappointed I did not get to try the cuisine and beers at Thirsty Bear on Howard. I tried to visit during a busy lunch rush, as a single on Thursday the 23rd. I was told they were trying to sit singles at the bar, I said fine, and went to look. There was only one seat open,... More

Hi Thirsty from Denver, Thanks for emailing me directly about this as well. We do our very best to accommodate as many people as we can as quickly as we can. I'm sorry not all the seating options were presented to you when you first arrived which may have avoided your frustration with having to wait for a different counter... More

The Adobe burger is delicious, cooked to perfection and the sauce it comes with is mouthwatering. Highly recommend! Great staff and just a nice place to sit back and enjoy some good drinks or a meal.

Staying in SoMa

Neighborhood Profile
SoMa
South of Market (SoMa), has an urban and sophisticated vibe, but you're more likely to find big nightclubs and lots of industrial loft residences than you are to find boutique shopping. Although it’s the epicenter for tech startups in the city, visitors will be able to do more than just business - museums, top quality restaurants, and the San Francisco Giants now call this neighborhood home. Most of its freeway-sized streets may not capture the same character as other neighborhoods in the city, but pockets of charm, like South Park, can still be found throughout its side streets.
