The concierge at the Fairmont recommended this place to us as a locals Italian favourite. We walked down to find a really quaint little spot, and we're immediately welcomed and made feel right at home. Service was fantastic, food delicious, and wonderful little touches like a complimentary liqueur at the end of the meal and all the ladies were given... More

We were looking for a "special occasion" neighborhood Italian restaurant----- And Tom from the Fairmont concierge desk zeroed right into Allegro Romano. It was exactly what We were looking for----off the tourist path---small, intimate, and having the front window seats--very romantic. Staff was ready for us----friendly, cordial, and immediately plugged Us into the ambience. Great Italian wine menu--limited but with... More

My son and I discovered this place while roaming the hilltops as tourists from Chicago. From the pictures in the window featuring celebrities who had dined there, we didn't think we'd be able to get a table for that evening - which was I be our last in town. Especially considering how tiny the place is. But we were pleasantly... More

Make a reservation. This place is small. The staff is incredibly attentive without be intrusive. Our waiter was smart and motivated. He answered our questions about the menu and made some recommendations. We had a fabulous wine and appetizers. They had osso buco as the special and it was to die for. If you want a guaranteed great date night... More

Me and my girlfriend went to dinner here and it was just perfect. It is a very small intimate restaurant. We had a corner table with a nice view. The squid ink risotto and scallops was amazing. My girlfriend kept stealing bites but that was ok. I would definitely recommend this restaurant.

I didn't even go. Let me explain: I'm from Spain. I was travelling to San Francisco in June and two local friends recommended me a few places to go with my wife, this was one of them. So two months before June, and to make I had a reservation, I emailed them. No reply. Nothing. After that, I waited, and... More

After task force meetings we booked Allegro ( last minute - but fortunately there was a cancellation) for 7 of us last night. We were celebrating 2 birthdays and another great night in SF. We brought some great wines and savoured others off a very good wine list, We just let Lorenzo do his thing with tastings.... all courses were... More

4 women celebrating a birthday together and they spoiled us so much. Had a wonderful meal, bottle of wine and a special treat they gave us at the end of the meal, port! and they kept pouring it. From the minute we walked in to the end of the evening the service was wonderful and the food great.

Visiting from Calgary. This restaurant was recommended. Loved it so much went there again. The atmosphere and service made it very welcoming and the staff and chef will cater to any changes you want on your order. Try the pasta with the white truffle sauce. You'll want to lick your plate.

This guy is great. Staff is good. Food is spectacular. Price is quite affordable for the quality you receive. Venue is unassuming and very quaint (small) but we'll worth squeezing into. I recommend bringing your own Italian or French wine though if you are a serious connoisseur. PLEASE TRY THIS PLACE. You'll be glad you did. I do every time... More
