Buffalo wings

This place is quite and beatiful. We were here on Monday night and the wings were outstanding. The waitress very nice and a good table to play rolling balls We will be back for sure. Angelo

The tavern is warm, friendly and comfortable, like you might expect of a pub. It has the feel of a local place and offers free popcorn. Good beer selection and mixed drinks made to order. A limited "bar food" menu, but prices are reasonable. Service was prompt and friendly. All in all, a nice experience that felt local.

We stayed in SF for an entire week seeing the sights and eating in many nice restaurants. The White Horse was a nice change of pace from the fancy restaurants. The decor is Old English Pub with uneven wooden floors. Everything looked pretty worn and the table was a bit wobbly but that all added to the ambiance. Service was... More

Just off Union Square, a friendly pub with a good selection of draft beers (all $4-5) and excellent food. As a single female traveler, I feel completely comfortable going there by myself.

We had breakfast here as we were staying in the hotel Beresford. The Croissants and pastries were stale. We also ate here one evening, both meals were so terrible we couldn't eat them.

I would suspect the only non-locals who frequent the place are due to the reviews. We just happened to be passing by and it looked like a local place. It was. And is. We felt like if we lived in the area this is where we'd hang. Small bar but friendly folks. Good variety of pub offerings with a server... More

Stopped here one night for drinks and dinner. The waitress (sorry I didn’t get her name) was friendly as were the locals. One couple on a date showed our small group how to play shuffleboard in the back room. I was so disappointed that they were out of fish and chips I settled for a burger (delicious!) and we went... I visited San Francisco on Halloween for 3 nights and 4 days. After seeing all of the sights and shopping all day, I returned to Hotel Beresford in the late afternoon. Each night on my visit I have dinner at the White Horse where the staff is so welcoming and so friendly. I tried the calamari with coleslaw on the... More

Good honest pub with friendly people that make you feel at home. Wouldn't classify as mainstream tourist attraction, but your comfort one-for-the-road night cap
