Yummy

I have been going to this place for about 30 years. The sushi boats are fun to watch go by and grab what looks good. Food quality is good. Not really high end fancy sushi, but good place to go with friends, family with kids old enough to not get too restless, or even on a date. Seating is around... read more

I am disappointed. Too expensive for variety they offer. The server was Okay when she greeted me,but wasn't very pleasant. it was Sunday night. Not much variety and sushi looked old. I think when you have company the ambiance is great and may be romantic. When you are by yourself all you care is good food. It was not the... More

We ate as Isobune after a day of cycling around San Francisco and arrived with a big appetite. Isobune is a popular and busy sushi bar in Japantown. It serves sushi with the boat moat setup, which is perfect when you are starving. Boats go by with various sushi and rolls float by and you grab whichever strikes your fancy.... More

We found ourselves in Japantown and did not know where to go. Looked on Trip Advisor and found Isobune. As we walked in a couple was leaving, so I asked how it was - they told us it was terrific. So we sat down, and watched as a huge variety of sushi rolls floated by. Of our party of 3... More

My wife and I have been going to Isobune for over 40 years, and I was saddened by our visit today. It has always been a place of memories and good feelings. The last time that I went there, they had raised the prices significantly, and the selection was not that great. Today March 30, I went there and the... More

I took my kids here for the experience of taking sushi off of boats. It was fun and the sushi was good. My only complaint is that there was not a huge variety of sushi. I saw one spider roll and it was gone before it came around again, and I never saw another again. I did try four or... More

We decided to stop in here during the afternoon of New Year's Eve. Although it was busy, the wait was only 10 minutes or so and it was worth it. The little boats were a charming change from the usual kaitenzushi conveyor belts and the quality of the sushi was wonderful. I would have liked a little more variety but... More

Popped in here on a whim for a late afternoon bite with my family and friends. The only problem with this place is that you will be tempted to eat more than you really need to because it is so darn enticing! Fresh, fun and not really all that expensive. Loved it!

Lovely little sushi place in the heart of Japan town. Unlike the big chains your sushi is served on little boats going around a tiny river. The sushi itself is amazing- so much better than what we get in Scotland. If we go back to San Francisco I wouldn't hesitate to come back here.

We went with our grand kids. They love sushi and could break the bank with eating this even at 8 and 11. They enjoy the boats because they can see what they are getting rather than trying to figure it out from a menu. Fresh food and they used their math skills to figure out how much they ate costs...
