Our daughter has lived three blocks from this spot for the last five years. Every time we walk by, we say we must go. We love French food. In fact, my husband is French Swiss. Tonight I decided to give this cute little place a try. It was good. But not good enough to make me ever come back. There... More

We stumbled (literally after walking up a frighteningly steep hill in San Francisco!) upon this little french restaurant where we were literally invited inside by the server, Gerardo. We dined on filet mignon for my wife and rack of lamb for myself. Both entrees included the soup dujour, watercress soup which was very good. The dinner was perfectly cooked and... More

Please make a reservation to this little place. The Service is great, and although a tiny bathroom that a wide shoulder guy like myself had trouble getting in and out of, it is absolutely worth every penny to eat here. I had the Filet Mignon and a bottle of Champagne, absolutely delicious. Blew every steak I've ever had out of... More

A small French restaurant with excellent food, a lovely owner / chef and a family of excellent staff. Recommended to us by the concierge at the Fairmont hotel - and she was right. We ate there twice in June 2015 and were delighted by the food and service both evenings. Highly recommended.

We had been meaning to visit for at least a year and finally found the right time for an early evening meal. San Francisco is such a sophisticated food city, so to find the welcome mat out, greeted warmly by the hostess and welcomed by the waiter with a big smile and a sense of humor was a retro treat!... This is not a five star restaurant; not even close. I would give it something between a 3-4 if I could, but I tend toward the 4. Here’s why: This is a tiny, neighborhood place. Several locals walked in off the street and were obviously well-known to the maître ‘d. The décor is no great shakes; kinda shabby around the... More

We'll start with the soup -- divine. Cream-based spinach and potato. We shared a small dinner salad with a delectable vinaigrette. I had the Rosemary chicken and my wonderful husband had the salmon. These were equally thrilling, but their respective sauces, each substantial and in generous quantity, elevated our entrees to a level of enjoyment that can be described as... More

Restaurant smells of rancid cooking oil. My duck breast was swimming in sauce and served with white rice and chunky vegetables certainly not French MK

A great French restaurant in Nob Hill. The food is spectacular and you will enjoy it very much. It is small and intimate which adds to its charm. One place not to be missed when you are in San Francisco.

Staying in Nob Hill

Neighborhood Profile
Nob Hill
Swanky and stylish, Nob Hill sits in the heart of the city and is home to amazing architecture and views. The hike to the top can be a challenging workout for those who forego a cable car ride, but they will be rewarded with some of the city’s most beautiful architecture adorning its peak. Originally populated with mansions after the Gold Rush, most if not all were devastated in the 1906 earthquake and fire that followed. Luckily all is not lost; storied hotels and Grace Cathedral surround Huntington Park. Having a drink or dinner while taking in the sunset and views at the "top of the Mark" is tough to beat.
