If I could give a 6 star rating, I would give it to this restaurant. We were warned by the hotel that it was small and it would be best to book, so we did ... and it was a good job that we did as the restaurant was fully booked for the early evening and they were waiting a... More

I found this restaurant for the first time three weeks ago was treated to one of the finest meals I've ever had. This is a small place, but I was seated as a party of one. Tonight, I went back by myself and there must have been at least 15 open seats, but was turned away at the door. Indeed,... More

This small gem is hidden one block down from Nob Hill. It offers excellent service, exquisite dishes in a relaxed intimate atmosphere. There is a chefs menu or you can order ala carte, the selection is impressive for a small, open kitchen. I also love the eclectic mix of customers.

You will need a strong pair of lungs to get to this place Post to Pine is one for mountaineers. However far more French than Bouche. The smallest restroom in the world they are bigger on a airliner. Food , wine and service is good and price is ok. Don't forget your crampons.

The space is small, but the flavors were exquisite. I had the escargot appetizer, which incorporated angel hair pasta. Different, yet delicious. The swordfish required savoring due to the delicate sauce. Desserts were to die for: Chocolate mousse, dense not fluffy, with a beautiful presentation; Passion fruit mousse, fruity and complex. The service was attentive, but not overbearing. Terrible traffic... More

The servers and chef were very warm and friendly. They have a fixed price menu that's a great deal, especially by San Francisco standards. But it looked like too much food for us, so we stuck to entrees and dessert, also priced more reasonably than other fine dining places we looked into. The food was not flashy, but all of... More

We were staying at the Mark Hopkins and while walking down to Union square saw this small corner restaurant. Menu looked great and we saw good reviews. What a treat. Four beautiful courses for $55! The seafood pasta was delicious, followed by a wonderful bisque with a delicious base which was rich and creamy and was a vegetable bisque...so nice.... More

We were lucky to get into this very small French restaurant for dinner. They only have about 9 tables. The service was incredible, and the food was even better. Definitely recommended.

The food and service is just amazing! A friend from Calgary recommended this restaurant and we are so glad Bill did. Vincent is the head of the house at Rue Lepic and he is part of their team that made our dining experience so memorable that we returned two nights later with our niece and her husband. Dining for us... More

Staying in Nob Hill

Neighborhood Profile
Nob Hill
Swanky and stylish, Nob Hill sits in the heart of the city and is home to amazing architecture and views. The hike to the top can be a challenging workout for those who forego a cable car ride, but they will be rewarded with some of the city’s most beautiful architecture adorning its peak. Originally populated with mansions after the Gold Rush, most if not all were devastated in the 1906 earthquake and fire that followed. Luckily all is not lost; storied hotels and Grace Cathedral surround Huntington Park. Having a drink or dinner while taking in the sunset and views at the "top of the Mark" is tough to beat.
