Tapas and great location

Large group booking handled very efficiently by the staff. Good vibe in the restaurant and good quality food (a Californian take on Spanish tapas).

Outside of Spain, London's Tendido Cero has been one of my favorite tapas places. Now I have discovered another extraordinary tapas dining experience outside of Spain. It happens to be in my own backyard. With no reservations and with no tables available at the time, seating at chef's counter or at the bar area was our only option. Begrudgingly, we... More

I picked this place because Eater or Yelp! had said it was a great place for views in SF. That's true to a certain extent if you sit at the bar, but the real show here is the cozy environment and the dynamite bar staff that made us drinks like we've never had them before. Amazing, truly amazing.

Go with great friends, it's the kind of place you sit and get into great talks, discussions, feeling great, warm and enjoying. The atmosphere is authentic. Great food and drinks. Interesting crowd without being obtrusive as many places around. Good service. Ham, cheeses, vegetables, we had several tapas to share, the one better than the other. The meat... and experience... I had a business lunch with a vegetarian attorney here this week. I'm not vegetarian, but went along with sharing mostly vegetarian dishes with her. All were outstanding and satisfying, including roasted cauliflower "steak", beet salad, creamy arroz, roasted potatoes, and more. I also ordered the pork and duck meatballs -- very tasty. Casual and warm atmosphere in Pier 5... More

Very well crafted - all the details are well thought out. Loved the drinking glasses - so many different glasses for every style of drink. We went for lunch and stayed for several hours at the bar, taking in the drinks (the Barca Gintonic is ridiculously good), the food and the characters of the area .The staff are exceptional. Are... Having lived in St. Helena, I wanted to hate Coqueta but I couldn't. The cocktails were lovingly prepared, original and delicious. The tapas were better than authentic (I also lived in Spain for a few years). I swear I've never had a better boqueron. Everyone in the bar was cheerful and chatty. It was a fun splurge. However, after spending... More

Enjoyed a fabulous dinner with girlfriends last night and was really impressed with Coqueta. Very high quality, thoughtful Spanish tapas to share. The flavors are incredible and presentation beautiful. We weren't able to get a reservation, but were able to secure a very comfortable table in the bar, with full menu. Service was not five stars - maybe three, but... More

Enjoyed a very nice dinner at Coqueta. Service is very good, atmosphere is excellent... especially the moderate noise level. Location on great on at Pier 5 is also nice. Basically, a worthy place to dine - you won't be disappointed. The food was superb - high quality, authentic, and delicious. Enjoyed the fried brussels sprouts, patatas, pork and duck meatballs,... I have officially tasted the best gin and tonic of my life and I have Coqueta to thank. We stopped in before our dinner reservations and were able to grab two seats in the bar area. Two drinks and a cheese/meat plate later we didn't want to leave. If I were to ever return to San Fran, this will be... More
