I was staying next door at the Hotel Union Square and ended up eating here several times, not just from pure convenience but it was very good food and fast service. Breakfast selection is great from basic cereal to steak and eggs. I had the All American breakfast and country fried steak, both did not disappoint. For dinner options I... More

We have been to San Francisco tons of times and have always walked by the glittery sign. For some reason we never gave this place a chance. Was it the sign? Maybe! Looked chessy and for some reason I expected to be dark, smokey, and greasy. My wife and I were hungry so I said why not. All these years... More

Walk in, place your order, grab a tray, pay, sit down w/a wireless buzzer while it cooks and you eat your salad. They buzz you, you go get it, eat it, and leave. Pretty simple! Two rules about Choosing Tad's...... #1 ......Impressing your new girlfriend???? Pick somewhere else! #2 .......Taking the spouse.... of ten years...on vacation while on fixed budget???... More

Decent food, decent price. Not set up for service or the ambiance but if your hungry and you are in the vicinity, you can get a breakfast, lunch or dinner at a reasonable price

From the dark wood paneling, tables and dated decor as well as cafeteria style seating - to the menu board and selections, step back into the 70's at Tad's Steakhouse in San Francisco. This review is based on their BREAKFAST Menu..... Decent Breakfast food (eggs, pancakes, toast), Good Coffee and above all.....prices from 1974. While far from fancy, (VERY FAR!) this... More

We found the whole concept of a "Broiled" steak to be bizarre as we had never heard of it before coming to America, however we decided to try Tad's. We're not big 'fast food' people and didn't realise that it was an 'order at the counter and come back up to get your food' sort of place. While the food... More

If you are a budget tourist and are feed up with burgers this chain of restaurants is what you need. 1/2 chicken with an hot potato and a cold Bud will bring peace in your stomac. It's a self service and you have to stand in line for a while but the guys are fast and nice.

I first came here in 1975 when the red flocked walls and red leather seated booths made it a bit more elegant, but you don't come to Tad's for the decor or the atmosphere, you come for a good size quality and tasty steak. It comes as you order it - medium rare for me - with a baked potato... More
