Worst!!!Never Visit!!

There was no "service." Terrible waitress! What she did was just ask what to order. And ignored customers. She never saw my table, checked my table or asked me anything during my meal. Dropped into this bar/restaurant after a long day touring and had a few beers and excellent bar snacks. Staff were friendly and we liked the casual ambience, locals were calling in for similar and we thought this would be good for an end of holiday meal later in the week. Sadly for the price we considered the meal very basic.... More

Staff was extremely nice and spent time with us on the menu. I ordered the chicken parm and it was greasy and tasteless. My wife ordered pasta and while it tasted fine, it upset her stomach.

Stopped for lunch . Ordered the breadbowl clam chowder. Full of celery minimal clams . Canned chowder is better than this . The beer was cold and we did get happy hour . The server was very friendly and its nice to sit outside and people watch .

Every time we come to San Francisco, we always come here. Like to call it our little secret! The food has always been good. It's simple and honest. I always have crab with clam chowder. Pair it with Anchor Steam Beer and I am happy! Our server was very attentive, but not always at your table with a mouthful asking... More

You can't avoid a visit to Fisherman's Wharf if you're in San Francisco on holiday. Pier 39 is the most frequently recommended venue and worth a short visit to appreciate the full-on American tourist experience. However if you're looking for a good place to eat in the area walk a little further along the wharf towards Ghiradelli Square, past the... More

Among the madding crowd of touristy Fisherman's Wharf, Pompei's Grotto is a wonderful place to hide away and enjoy some terrific seafood. The restaurant is intimate, so you'll likely dine in earshot of others, but it is not objectionable as the ambiance is warm and friendly. We were fortunate to be there for the Dungeness Crab season (Jan-Feb). The crab... More

It was a rainy San Francisco evening, so we didn't want to range too far afield from our Wharf hotel. Pompei's Grotto was across the street and the outdoor menu had a good read. Wine: very reasonable. Glasses of Pinot Grigio were $6 and a bottle of Joel Gott Sauvignon Blanc was $25. There were six of us. 1 had... More

Stopped by to have a cold beer and rest our tired feet after a day on Alcatraz. The waitresses were friendly and old school (We like them that way!) We were thrilled to get a cold beer for four dollars and decided we needed a little something to accompany the beer. The waitress suggested the fried calamari and at five dollars... More

It was reassuring to see some locals seated with us. It was busy, but everything was well prepared and service was good. The specials were a great deal for us budget minded travelers.
