I had dinner here and was quite disappointed with the quality of the food. I had steamed clams and a seafood broth. The steamed clams were a huge disappointment as some of the clams were off. I informed two waiters but, despite acknowledging my comments, did not do anything about it. The seafood broth was reasonable. Better than I can... More

We were recommended to this place by the Concierge at the Holiday Inn and we were so grateful that he did. The restaurant has a bar area and a separate seating area for the restaurant so we decided to have a cocktail at the bar first and the Margaritas that we chose were first class and very strong! We moved... More

The food was fine, location excellent. All going well, unfortunately if you question their calculation of your bill you need to be prepared to be insulted in public. I rightfully questioned the bill, firstly to be told incorrectly that I had arrived prior to the time the offer they advertised had started. Once they realised the time stamp on their... More

Stopped at Pompei's Grotto because the outside seating was busy. We sat outside and the service was very good. My wife got shrimp and I got scallops and our only complaint is that we could have eaten more and that's more a statement on the tastiness of the food than portion size (which was not overly large). My wife said... More

Fish tacos and appetizers were great for happy hour. Loved the patio seating. Great local feel in such a touristy area.

Grab a table outside. I would recommend the bay shrimp cocktail with house made cocktail sauce. The pasta is excellent.

We stopped in around 4pm for a very early dinner. It was not very crowded at that time. My husband had the Captains Platter and I couldn't decide between shrimp or pasta. Our server recommended the pasta with shrimp and tomatoes in a cream sauce, so I went with her recommendation. Our food was brought out very quickly, and the... More

Pompei's Grotto is a tourist restaurant in Fisherman's wharf. The food was delicious. My wife and I had the crab cakes, green salad with blue cheese, lasagna, and a bottle of chianti. I wanted a cannoli for desert, but it wasn't on the menu. This is a good quality restaurant with good food at a reasonable price. We would go... More

After eating in a number of expensive, less than terrific places, we found Pompei's Grotto in Fisherman’s Wharf. It was probably the outside which made us look at the menu. We ate there one night and found it to be a terrific value. The food was very good and more reasonably priced than other places with pleasant, prompt service.

The location of this restaurant was great & it looked absolutely gorgeous from the outside. On entering it was just as lovely on the inside. It was cosy & quaint but still had a spacious feel about it. The staff were friendly & we have no complaints there. The food however didn't live up to our expectations we had after... More
