We visited Cioppino's on the Wharf for a Tuesday lunch. The whole Fisherman's wharf area was just sparsely attended as one might expect on a winter Tuesday. We were immediately seated at a window table and our server, Victor H, was there with water and took our wine and beer order. He was friendly, courteous and attentive. There was no... More

Ordered two 12oz steak dinners and the fish trio special. Although the steaks were perfectly cooked they were of poor quality and also poorly butchered making 1/4 of them inedible due to grille, certainly not worthy of the $32 price tag on each one. The fish trio of salmon, swordfish and mahi was bland and the portions were small. The... More

We walked the whole wharf and decided to have dinner at Cioppino's. We waited about 1 hour to get a table. The smell of Garlic is fabulous and permeates the restaurant. All was well until we ordered. Seems like they forgot about the 3 of us AFTER we ordered. The manager came over and apologized without is even asking. The... More

My family and I had spent the day sightseeing throughout the city and were very hungry. The restaurant is right on Fishermen's Wharf, very large and inviting. We were seated right away and brought water and a basket of great sourdough bread. We all have different tastes in food and it was great that there was something for all of... More

We stopped by just in time for happy hour but when we started placing orders we quickly learned the bartender was serving well drinks. No worries, our server took great care of us bringing us other ingredients on the side so we could have a proper beverage and still get the happy hour price. Their happy hour appetizers are a... The chicken parm and spaghetti and meatballs were wonderful. My husband didn't care for his chicken carbonaro as much. The bread is very tasty as well. Would visit again!

I always wanted to try the San Francisco Cioppino which of course is the namesake dish of this fabulous restaurant located right in the heart of things on Jefferson Street in Fisherman's Wharf. When I noticed on the menu that you could get a smaller portion of the dish rather than the $25 (or more) full size portion I decided... More

Went here to try the signature dish and although I have no previous frame of reference to compare with, I was not disappointed. I chose the shell-off version of crab and the bowl came filled with seafood. The sauce was a lovely, flavourful tomato based and the bread helped mop it all up. They also made me a great Mojito... We decided to celebrate Chirstmas eve dinner with them, we were a party of 15 people and they got extremely lost and slow. First our entrees and 1st course never came, they jumped right to main course and even with that they got it wrong. Food was untasty, no flavor at all and expensive. Finally when we told our server... More

We ordered the clam chowder in the bread bowl to share. Chowder was very tasty but not much in the bread bowl so stick to a regular bowl and they give you bread on the side. Caesar salad was decent but expensive for the size. The shrimp auroras pasta was flavorful and had just the right amount of cream in... More
