Searching for a Pier 39 dinner experience we stumbled across Swiss Louis. Swayed by the incredible views we were transfixed and failed to notice that the restaurant was pretty empty. We got there early for lunch and sat at a window with a terrific view of the Bay. The steamed clams were fantastic and we also had some very good fish & chips. Service was great and the waiter even helped us with some tourist info.!

My husband and I chose this place as after our Alcatraz cruise. We were seated right away near the window with a very lovely, scenic view of the harbor. The décor was a blend of Italy and San Francisco, honoring both representations. Our waiter was extremely courteous and attentive. We received our food extremely promptly and it was delicious. I... We dined at Swiss Louis after visiting Alcatraz. Our meals were deliciously good & service was very good, despite all our strange requests. Our final bill was quite expensive, but we decided that we had to splash out at least once during our holiday.

Wanting to try a different restaurant for lunch, we checked out some of the menus as we walked down Pier 39 and finally settled on Swiss Louis, Italian and Seafood Restaurant. We arrived right at 11:00 for lunch, and were promptly seated at a table overlooking the piers, with views of San Francisco, the sea lions, and the. Golden Gate.... More

Was looking forward to this evening out, tables very close together, choice of food very limited, had to ask about the cut of steak. Starter was a lettuce leaf with a slice of tomato. Steak ok and desert nothing special. For 65 dollars I would not say this was good value, very disappointed and we were rushed to leave at... More

The mussels and the linguine tasted well without any extraordinary touch by the chef. The restaurant was quite empty and no real personality in the restaurant. Bar was totally empty all time we where there. Our feeling was that staff was more frustrated over the lack of guests.

Food is San Francisco good with an Italian flare. Prices are spendy but no more than you'd expect for a restaurant on Pier 39. It's located on the 2nd level of Pier 39 and towards the back, facing the Marina where the Sea Lions hang out. We had clam chowder in a Boudin's sourdough bread bowl. Doesn't get more San... More

As many have said, the views are great, and the food is very tasty. Sure, the prices are higher than neighbors, but it's worth it. Portions are large. Service is personable.
