Drinks and snacks in the bar

I liked that it was both private and casual, despite the grand surroundings. Service was good. Bar food was limited but my shrimp egg rolls were plentiful and tasty.

Having had dinner at the Fairmont in Mont Tremblant at the start of the year, it seemed only fitting that my partner and I return for what we had hoped would be an equally memorable meal while visiting San Francisco. Our meal started off quite nicely and although the starters seemed basic, they delivered in terms of high quality ingredients... More

My wife and high had afternoon tea here. It was nice but their were no wow moments. Scones are great, sandwiches poor. Dessert acceptable. We would not come back.

Beautiful airy room within a domed cupola. Grand piano in center, bar area and casual seating on one side and the Laurel Court on the other - open concept. Can get a little noisy but fine for lunch. Attentive staff with good suggestions. Would definitely return. Have a look into the Venetian room which is a gorgeous performance room reached... More

This restaurant is inside the iconic Fairmont Hotel. We had a late lunch here on a recent weekend. Go to experience the Fairmont, but you can definitely skip the restaurant. It's pricey, the food was just average, and the service was perfunctory and disinterested.

I had the PCH omelette. It was very good and sizable. On the flip, it was $23. However, if you are going to patronize the Fairmont, you can't be surprised about the prices.

My wife and I had dinner here last night (2/16/15) for a belated valentines day. I had expected that being the Fairmont Hotel with it's reputation that the restaurant would be first class, regrettably it was not. The room that the restaurant is located in is right off of the hotel lobby and is quite large. It is divided 50/50... More

We have had lunch here on several occasions. The host is about as unfriendly as he can be. He acts like we are doing him a favor to eat here. I ordered French onion soup and a salad on one occasion. The salad was average and the broth was rather tasteless. On another occasion, my fish tacos were exceptional but... More

I stayed here in the past with my husband so when I was in San Francisco for a work trip I had to venture across the street for one of the best hotel brunch buffets I've had. The chowder also hits the spot on damp breezy days.

Laurel Court restaurant is a typical "corporate hotel bar and restaurant" serving very good food from the buffet or the menu a la carte. Drinks and snacks are served in sociable surroundings from the bar, both being some what expensive. But then if you want a place to relax in sumptuous surroundings and in a historic hotel after that corporate... More

Staying in Nob Hill

Neighborhood Profile
Nob Hill
Swanky and stylish, Nob Hill sits in the heart of the city and is home to amazing architecture and views. The hike to the top can be a challenging workout for those who forego a cable car ride, but they will be rewarded with some of the city’s most beautiful architecture adorning its peak. Originally populated with mansions after the Gold Rush, most if not all were devastated in the 1906 earthquake and fire that followed. Luckily all is not lost; storied hotels and Grace Cathedral surround Huntington Park. Having a drink or dinner while taking in the sunset and views at the "top of the Mark" is tough to beat.
