Huge portions

Fantastic meal. Starters of crab cakes & cowboy spring rolls with steak, peppers and jack cheese. Mains of snapper & mash (requested rather than fries) & Ribs & fries. Both meals were great, so much meat on the ribs. Quick friendly service. Recommend

My husband and I popped into this restaurant hours after arriving in town and looking for something close to our hotel. So glad we did, we both really enjoyed our meals, he had the ribs, I had the quesadilla. There was lots of food, neither of us finished our plates, the house wine was decent and the service was excellent.... More

It was a Friday night and we were looking for Fish & Chips. A local recommended this place so we walked a few blocks. It's a small pub with a friendly crowd and great bartender (Barb). The fish was breaded snapper. It wasn't bad but when I thing of fish & chips I think of north Atlantic cod. Well, this... More

We walked from the cable car because this was described as a seafood restaurant on my tripadvisor app. We were disappointed. My husband had a hamburger and I had a salad. There was no seafood to speak of on the menu. The food was o.k.

The food was good and the staff was friendly. It did take a little while to get the food out but we were a party of 17. We did all sit at the same table and that was great

We were walking back to our hotel and were looking for a place for breakfast and a drink. This was the perfect spot. The Mexican scramble was amazing. The Bloody Mary had the right spice and the people there were as friendly as you could ask for. After 13.1 miles this was the right place! We will definitely stop here... More

I really liked this place. I hate the prices in San Francisco, but this place was actually really good. The food and the wine was excellent and had a couple tables outside to enjoy.

The cable car from Market (Powell-Hyde) goes all the way to the Aquatic park at the end of Fishermans Wharf. Around ⅔ of the way from Powell coming down Jackson the cable car turns sharp right onto Hyde next to a great cafe called Nook (see separate review). Get off here and carry on walking down Jackson until you get... More

Walking from my hotel to some previously researched TA reviewed restaurants but along the way I stumbled on here and it seemed more up my alley. It was mid-late afternoon and there was probably only a little lunch crowd remaining, along with some obvious regulars who were chatting with the bartender, who was very nice. Tavern atmosphere, comfortable, kinda dark... More

We were walking back from a nice sf guide tour and stumbled on this Polk street establishment and we went in and had a great meal. The service was excellent.

Staying in Nob Hill

Neighborhood Profile
Nob Hill
Swanky and stylish, Nob Hill sits in the heart of the city and is home to amazing architecture and views. The hike to the top can be a challenging workout for those who forego a cable car ride, but they will be rewarded with some of the city’s most beautiful architecture adorning its peak. Originally populated with mansions after the Gold Rush, most if not all were devastated in the 1906 earthquake and fire that followed. Luckily all is not lost; storied hotels and Grace Cathedral surround Huntington Park. Having a drink or dinner while taking in the sunset and views at the "top of the Mark" is tough to beat.
