Interesting place to dine

The food was good and the staff was friendly. It did take a little while to get the food out but we were a party of 17. We did all sit at the same table and that was great

We were walking back to our hotel and were looking for a place for breakfast and a drink. This was the perfect spot. The Mexican scramble was amazing. The Bloody Mary had the right spice and the people there were as friendly as you could ask for. After 13.1 miles this was the right place! We will definitely stop here... More

I really liked this place. I hate the prices in San Francisco, but this place was actually really good. The food and the wine was excellent and had a couple tables outside to enjoy.

The cable car from Market (Powell-Hyde) goes all the way to the Aquatic park at the end of Fishermans Wharf. Around ⅔ of the way from Powell coming down Jackson the cable car turns sharp right onto Hyde next to a great cafe called Nook (see separate review). Get off here and carry on walking down Jackson until you get... More

Walking from my hotel to some previously researched TA reviewed restaurants but along the way I stumbled on here and it seemed more up my alley. It was mid-late afternoon and there was probably only a little lunch crowd remaining, along with some obvious regulars who were chatting with the bartender, who was very nice. Tavern atmosphere, comfortable, kinda dark... More

We were walking back from a nice sf guide tour and stumbled on this Polk street establishment and we went in and had a great meal. The service was excellent.

My husband and I wandered outside this restaurant and sat outside and had a couple of drinks. We then decided to go inside and eat. We were so happy that we did. We arrived in Los Angeles on Tuesday 9th September then flew to San Francisco on Thursday 11th and this meal was by far the best we have had... More

Pleasantly surprised by delicious lunch we had here. Chicagoans wandering the city, we discovered this cute corner spot and pulled up the reviews - which were promising - and the experience did not disappoint. Pleasant staff, comfortable atmosphere, and great food. Open face tuna taco appetizers were exquisite, French onion soup the perfect blend of salty and sweet, and the... More

Just walking by and chose this little spot for a light lunch. We split a simple but yummy pizza and had a beer each, so not a huge meal but still super service. We sat outside and people watched.

First off there were 4 of us. The waitress brought us all warm water with no ice. We ordered and she didn't write anything down. I ordered a chicken quesadilla with no green peppers, it came filled with green peppers. She never came back so I picked out the peppers and ate half of it until I started to get... More

Staying in Nob Hill

Neighborhood Profile
Nob Hill
Swanky and stylish, Nob Hill sits in the heart of the city and is home to amazing architecture and views. The hike to the top can be a challenging workout for those who forego a cable car ride, but they will be rewarded with some of the city’s most beautiful architecture adorning its peak. Originally populated with mansions after the Gold Rush, most if not all were devastated in the 1906 earthquake and fire that followed. Luckily all is not lost; storied hotels and Grace Cathedral surround Huntington Park. Having a drink or dinner while taking in the sunset and views at the "top of the Mark" is tough to beat.
