Amazing sushi - bring an open mind!

I travel internationally often so have had sushi at many different types of restaurants and locales - east coast US, west coast US, west coast Canada - and in many big cities (NYC, SF, VAN) known for their cuisine..small mom & pops to large internationally-known establishment$. I would say this is... read more

We took a TripAdvisor recommendation to come here and try things out. This is certainly a Mom and Pop type of place, and looks similar to any small Asian food restaurant. The sushi bar is tucked behind the actual restaurant and ordering is a bit confusing. Our rolls came with a thick, loose band of rice and off-color fish. They... More

Usually crowded but if u make a reservation there is a bar on the corner where you can hang and have a couple of drinks until u seated. The bar is always the place to be but once again if u are more than 2 people just get a table and enjoy each others company. Take advantage of the wide... More

A definite must!! We were lucky enough to dine with a friend of the chef, which added an exceptional element to our dinner. The fish is always fresh. Melts in your mouth!! The beers are traditional and fabulous too. If you like sushi and sashimi - do yourself a favour and go here. I don't even like raw fish but... More

One of the top 3 restaurants in the country. Not your typical Japanese restaurant, if you are craving for sushi go somewhere else. This place is only for purist, the BEST fish you will ever taste, it will MELT in your month.

We came here with high hopes and left seriously disappointed. We tried six items and not one was good. Chef must be using a blunt knife, the roll slices were not cleanly cut but had bits of fish dangling - unappetizing. The filling seemed soggy - flavorless. I cannot imagine that this is one of the best sushi places in... More

Very simple setting. Top quality fish, very skillfully presented. Best to sit at the bar and allow Roger to serve you what he thinks is good that day.

Unique fish from points beyond, creative rolls and good service - this has been the trademark of Zushi since I started going there in 2004. If you are in SF, you need to eat Asian foods. If you like Japanese cuisine, esp. fresh fish from across the globe, this is your place.

We really enjoyed watching Roger prepare the food. Even though not a sushi fan, everything was great and most enjoyable

Staying in Marina District

Neighborhood Profile
Marina District
Beautiful homes, beautiful people, and a beautiful backdrop of the Golden Gate Bridge welcome visitors to the Marina. Originally the location for the Panama-Pacific International Exposition in 1915 (whose remnants can be seen at the Palace of Fine Arts), much of the land was filled and flattened to accommodate a world’s fair. That ample space has given way to a jogger’s paradise at the northern edge of the city. With the picturesque bay setting as its backdrop, it’s no surprise that the area has hosted numerous movie productions. Daytime activities focus on café culture and boutique shopping, while the evenings turn this neighborhood into a party-going hotspot.
