Small place in little Italy. Reservations recommended. Our two starters were sautéed calamari and zucchini salad. So few places sauté calamari, and it is so much better than fried, but has to be cooked properly. It was excellent at Ideale. Next was ravioli and nightly special of mushroom lasagne with truffles -- excellent the the most generous truffle serving I've... More

After staying for close to a week in the city we were so bummed that we ate here on our last night because we would have eaten here so many more times. The food was honestly out of this world. They had a special Truffles Lasagna that so far is the worlds most unbelievably delicious meal I've ever had. In... More

3 weeks in the US and this was the best restaurant we ate in. Fresh pasta , great pizza and very good service. Who could ask for more.

Another quick review. Found a little bit of Italy (Roman Italy) in the over trendy and not so "Italian" area of Little Italy in San Francisco. This one is a little hole in the wall gem off Columbus that appeared to be patronized mostly by locals. It was fantastic. The burratta was great, the Gnocchi and Bucatini all'Amatriciana were outstanding.... More

Everyone seemed happy to wait on us, and with their thick Italian accents, made it seem even better. Pasta was hit and plentiful. We left full and content. The bread could use a bit more flavor.

We are a family of 5 and I was tired of paying $25+ per person for dinner. Ideale was perfect for us. The pasta was homemade and delicious. The server was very friendly and professional. The entrees averaged $16-$20 each. The only disappointment was the lasagna (the pasta was overcooked) but all of the other pasta was cooked perfectly. The... More

It was like being back in Italy!! Our party of 4 ordered the buffalo mozzarella and prosciutto e pera appetizers, the gnocchi, lasagna, bucatini and I can't remember the last dish. There was not one bite leftover. The service was excellent and our waiter was very attentive, even during the busy dinner hour. I would definitely recommend making reservations. Ciao!

Outstanding little place with authentic Italian faire served by a very friendly, attentive and accommodating staff. The pizza has a thin crust with a nice, crunchy, almost cracker-like edge. No matter what you do, save a little room for the Tartufo Limoncello for dessert. It is otherworldly good. Speaking of Limoncello, they make their own, and it's fantastic.

With so many restaurants in Little Italy it's hard to pick, but read the reviews and seeing that they made their own pasta is what got us in the door. We weren't disappointed, the food was amazing, fresh and delicious, the service terrific and if we're ever in town again, we will go back! Their gnocchi is to die for!!

We ate there as the first customers of the evening. The service was great. The food was even better. They make their own pasta. I didn't even know how much of a difference that makes to a dish! Go there!
