We stopped here early one morning on our way to the North Beach Food Tour. We only had 45 minutes for breakfast. The server said "no problem" and delivered good food on time. It has reasonable prices and a pleasant atmosphere. You won't go wrong by stopping here for a satisfying breakfast.

We had Pizza, Pasta, Gnochi, Polenta, evrything was good (not the best Italian food we had). The portions are nice and overall the value is good. Nice to seat outside in a sunny day.

Visited the Italian section here & had a lovely meal. I had a pizza & my husband had a nice pasta dish. All washed down with a good beer & a cider. Very good staff here. It was that good when we were near it again we sat outside in the sun & had the lovely cool drinks again &... More

Quietly sitting on a busy corner is this great little find, set amongst the bigger brasher more obvious italian restaurants in north beach, this is where you should head. Great authentic and reasonably priced food and between 4 and 6 so is the drink!!

We thought the service forgot us, we had to ask for the drinks and waited around 1h for the food. The pasta was alright, the steak was not medium, as we ordered, but well done. The sides were good. However, sitting outside is chilled, the interior design is nothing special.

but know there better choices. It is pricy for what it offers the pasta was good but have had better. Was highly disappointed that with all the great bread (Sourdough Etc) in SF, this restaurant served none with the meal. I will not go back too many other great choices!!

We were looking for a place to have breakfast and after having tried to queue at a more advertised restaurant ,we changed our plans and started walking around to see what options we had. We stumbled upon this little corner gem which only had two tables taken when we arrived. It soon got busier and we could tell why. The... More

We ate dinner yesterday at this restaurant. We had a mixed salad, a spinach salad, chicken Marsala and a mushroom and pepperoni pizza. It was large portions which we couldn't finish. The meal with three glasses of wine and one soda was $78.12 before tip. The reason I only gave it four stars was not for the food or service... More

I have a high standard when it comes to Italian cuisine but the food here is simply brilliant at reasonable prices! The drink list is great too and the food is nothing short of authentic! Definitely go here if you're in the area!

Staying in North Beach / Telegraph Hill

Neighborhood Profile
North Beach / Telegraph Hill
The aroma of freshly roasted coffee beans, the sounds of opera, and the sights of the romantic Italian ristorante come together to create the charming neighborhood of North Beach, once the stomping grounds for the Beatnik Generation. Although parts of North Beach are known for nightlife that’s not always suitable for younger visitors, few neighborhoods in the city exude as much European charm and style. Peruse a bookstore for the literature of Kerouac, Ferlinghetti and Ginsberg, grab some gelato and head to Washington Square for a perfect afternoon of people watching. Just east of North Beach, the hills and staircases of Telegraph Hill are a unique delight. At its peak, the art deco Coit Tower provides sweeping panoramic views of the bay and city. The beautifully landscaped Filbert Street Steps, a street too steep for a roadway, rewards those willing to hike uphill. Keep your ears open and you might even hear the squawk of the wild parrots who call this neighborhood home.
