Small Caffe with Great food and service

We had a reservation and arrived early. Not much seating, and all was full. The party ahead of us took several hours to finish, however, we were seated as soon as a table opened up outside. We were given free wine and the food was excellent. The staff was very apologetic.

My husband and i had brunch here twice while on vacation. There was only one server in there the first day we went. She kept up with everything and our food was out very fast. Both of our plates were tasty and the atmosphere was quaint and cute. The second time we were in a hurry to make our flight,... More

Great dinner, quick service and meals were crisp and tasty. Appetizers were really delicious and prices were very reasonable. Atmosphere is a little bland...seating not meant for a long comfortable meal, more a great place to get in and out of. Saw beer and wine, but no liquors available

Cafe Delucchi has a great corner location and is a great find for a lazy breakfast. The food is pretty good and I quite liked the Medi scramble and the Eggs Benedict, but what really amazed me was the Italian Soda which is the reason I would go back again. The cafe itself is unmistakable to spot in the North... More

Café DeLucchi is located in the old Italian neighborhood of North Beach among many other restaurants serving Italian fare. The dining area consists of a spacious dinning room that contains a very small bar that is nicely decorated in a modern motif. It has large windows offering street views and provides a relaxing ambiance. In addition, it has tables outside... More

We stopped here early one morning on our way to the North Beach Food Tour. We only had 45 minutes for breakfast. The server said "no problem" and delivered good food on time. It has reasonable prices and a pleasant atmosphere. You won't go wrong by stopping here for a satisfying breakfast.

We had Pizza, Pasta, Gnochi, Polenta, evrything was good (not the best Italian food we had). The portions are nice and overall the value is good. Nice to seat outside in a sunny day.

Visited the Italian section here & had a lovely meal. I had a pizza & my husband had a nice pasta dish. All washed down with a good beer & a cider. Very good staff here. It was that good when we were near it again we sat outside in the sun & had the lovely cool drinks again &... More

Quietly sitting on a busy corner is this great little find, set amongst the bigger brasher more obvious italian restaurants in north beach, this is where you should head. Great authentic and reasonably priced food and between 4 and 6 so is the drink!!

We thought the service forgot us, we had to ask for the drinks and waited around 1h for the food. The pasta was alright, the steak was not medium, as we ordered, but well done. The sides were good. However, sitting outside is chilled, the interior design is nothing special.

Staying in North Beach / Telegraph Hill

Neighborhood Profile
North Beach / Telegraph Hill
The aroma of freshly roasted coffee beans, the sounds of opera, and the sights of the romantic Italian ristorante come together to create the charming neighborhood of North Beach, once the stomping grounds for the Beatnik Generation. Although parts of North Beach are known for nightlife that’s not always suitable for younger visitors, few neighborhoods in the city exude as much European charm and style. Peruse a bookstore for the literature of Kerouac, Ferlinghetti and Ginsberg, grab some gelato and head to Washington Square for a perfect afternoon of people watching. Just east of North Beach, the hills and staircases of Telegraph Hill are a unique delight. At its peak, the art deco Coit Tower provides sweeping panoramic views of the bay and city. The beautifully landscaped Filbert Street Steps, a street too steep for a roadway, rewards those willing to hike uphill. Keep your ears open and you might even hear the squawk of the wild parrots who call this neighborhood home.
