My family of five had dinner here because of the good reviews on TripAdvisor. All five meals and the two appetizers were very good. We enjoyed the veal special, ravioli, gnocchi, and pasta main dishes. So as advertised the food was good, service was prompt and courteous, and price was moderate about $30 per person without alcohol.

OK so while on the cable cars, we were discussing good places to eat in SF and the one couple we spoke to absolutely raved about Firenze by Night. So we gave it a shot, but in the end we wished we had chosen elsewhere. The overall average rating was mostly due to the attentiveness that we got from our... More

The box office manager at Club Fugazi recommended we come here for a pre-show dinner. Great recommendation. Had the carpaccio and the veal Saltimbocca. Both were delicious.

A San Fran local told us about this place, and we are glad he did! By far the best meal that we had in the week that we were there! The Italian waiter was knowledgeable with the wine list and recommended a great Italian wine to complement the meal! He didn't just go to the most expensive bottle! Family had... More

We arrived just after it opened, and it filled as we left at 6:30. It is delightfully Italian in décor (maybe not the burned-out holiday lights) and the charm and attentiveness of the servers. We had Rosario. The calamari appetizer was the lightness and most palate-pleasing of any I've had. So,too, was the special of mussels, shrimp and scallops atop... More

We were a large group arriving without a reservation on a Friday night in San Fransisco and they took us in!! Wow! I was so happy with that. From there it just got better. Our very busy waiter made sure we had everything we needed. I had the gnocchi and the fettuccini pesto with a glass of wine. A quite... More

Visited this restaurant just before 10pm and they were very accommodating. Waiter helped us with our meal and suggested additional choices to suit our tastes. Very friendly and very enjoyable!

We picked this restaurant at random off of Trip Advisor as we wanted to get away from Fisherman's Wharf to try something a little different. I just loved it. Our waiter was so helpful and attentive. The food was absolutely delicious. The place filled up fast so I would go early if you want to avoid a wait.

I have eaten here twice and I love the manicotti with chicken and prosciutto. The food, drinks and dessert are excellent. That said, two bottles of San Pellegrino water cost almost as much as my $16 manicotti. Still, I would highly recommend eating here for great Italian food.

Staying in North Beach / Telegraph Hill

Neighborhood Profile
North Beach / Telegraph Hill
The aroma of freshly roasted coffee beans, the sounds of opera, and the sights of the romantic Italian ristorante come together to create the charming neighborhood of North Beach, once the stomping grounds for the Beatnik Generation. Although parts of North Beach are known for nightlife that’s not always suitable for younger visitors, few neighborhoods in the city exude as much European charm and style. Peruse a bookstore for the literature of Kerouac, Ferlinghetti and Ginsberg, grab some gelato and head to Washington Square for a perfect afternoon of people watching. Just east of North Beach, the hills and staircases of Telegraph Hill are a unique delight. At its peak, the art deco Coit Tower provides sweeping panoramic views of the bay and city. The beautifully landscaped Filbert Street Steps, a street too steep for a roadway, rewards those willing to hike uphill. Keep your ears open and you might even hear the squawk of the wild parrots who call this neighborhood home.
