Whether you call it Sodini's or Green Valley Restaurant it has been a staple of this ethnic neighborhood for decades. Don't worry if there is a waiting list- it is definitely worth the wait. It opens at 5:00, so get a first seating if you have time constraints. The menu offers many choices, the food is wonderful with bold, fresh... More

After our dinner there, I am wondering where all the hype is coming from. The staff was great. The food was pretty average; relying heavily on pasta with not a lot of variety. Plus, the place was insanely loud when it was only half full. Not bad, but definitely not the best Italian food.

Went with a family of 8. Arrived at 5:00 when it opened and it was packed by 6:00. Salads are very big and can be shared with 2. Pasta was homemade and very good. Pizza was delicious. Had a nice bottle of wine to share with the family. Only thing is there is no dessert as written on the front... More

Having escaped Chinatown we found ourselves in North Beach and, purely by accident, stumbling on Sodini's. From the moment we walked in we knew we wanted to eat here. The place is delightfully chaotic. Waiters and waitresses scramble for room and you are asked to move out of the way in five different directions before you reach the bar. The... More

I travel to San Francisco a few times a year from central California and always have dinner at Sodinis. Mark, the owner, always greets with a smile and runs a top notch staff. The food is just excellent. I have never had anything that wasn't great. This is a smaller, rustic restaurant and bar where the locals hang out. Always... More

Picked this based on a food review site, probably overrated. Food was good but not great, maybe i expected too much. Dropped $100 on two adults and three children so spent more than I wanted to. Service was good, waitress was pleasant and attentive. Portions were large. Might eat here again if I lived in the area.

I learned the next day that Sodini's is one of the few family run Italian restaurants left in North Beach. We were seated at a table near the window and Rachael was our waitress. They were busy , but we were in no hurry as beach blanket babylon was our next stop at 9:30. ( an easy walk) . Since... More

Appetizers (bruschetta), food (pizza and pasta) and wine were very good. Great that you can choose your pizza with a thick (American style) crust or a thin, crunchy (Italian style) crust. The restaurant was quite busy but luckily we didn't have to wait as we were only two guests. Really friendly staff, quick and attentive! Great place in little Italy... More

This is a small restaurant with homemade pasta dishes. It is on a side street. The staff is VERY Italian. There is not much in the way of ambiance but if you are after the food itself you should give it a try.

Red, white and green lights strung across the road from the restaurant out front, candles in bottles in the windows and the intoxicating smell of tomato sauce and melting cheeses will lead you to this hidden gem. Food was so amazing! Best lasagne I've ever had. Dining alfresco was the icing on the cake. Will be on my list every... More
