I did not have the chowder, visited here for breakfast. Coffee wasn't so great, and the options were over priced. I stayed at the Argonaut and loved the hotel, really loved the hotel. But I wouldn't eat here again. There are just too many other great options/opportunities in San Fran that should not be missed!

We stopped by for dinner, it was a cool evening and chowder sounded like a good idea. We ordered the clam with corn chowder and the mussel and sausage soup. Both were delicious, the chowder was creamy, with lots of clams, corn and potatoes... total comfort food. The mussel and sausage soup was spicy with a tomato based broth...yummy! For... More

What can I say. I love Chowder. Beautiful decor. Great menu. Fish and chips are enormous. I recommend this place for kids because of its playful decor. Friendly staff. Helpful manager. Right off Fisherman's Wharf.

Stayed at The Argonaut and after a busy day decided to eat at the Hotel. Not your normal hotel restaurant, much better. Fabulous staff and knowledgable with the wines. Cocktails were fantastic. Seafood was excellent, beautiful meals. Recommend everything.

This restaurant was attached to our hotel and we were advised it was a casual family dining venue. The food was good, basic and comforting after a cool windy day. The portions were large and we had more than we could eat. Their "award winning" crab and corn chowder was good. I had their side of asparagus with my meal... More

Ahoy Shannon! We are pleased to hear that we met your expectations. The Crab and Corn chowder is great. If you like asparagus on your next trip to San Francisco come by and try the California Clam Chowder. It's similar to New England Clam Chowder but we add red pepper puree and asapargus to it.. It's fantastic! Adam More

My wife and I had lunch a few days ago at the Blue Mermaid Chowder House & Bar in the Fisherman's Wharf area of San Francisco. We saw signage on the patio of this restaurant claiming "World Famous Crab Chowder" so we were enticed into the place. My wife had the Bread Bowl Clam Chowder, which she liked. She said... More

Ahoy Bill, The green stuff on top of the "Award Winning" Crab and Corn Chowder is a cilantro pesto sauce. We just won the People's Choice Award and the Judge's Choice award at the annual Wharf fest for that chowder. We are to hear that you enjoyed the food and the Service. Thanks for your review and we are looking... More

The food here is fantastic - with so many seafood restaurants to try along the Wharf, this is the best. Try the cioppino - delicious!

I enjoyed looking at the old post-and-beam supports, as well as the 100-something year old cupboard near the bar. Beers were reasonable, and the atmosphere was great.

We love this "Rustic" place as well. We are glad you enjoyed it. The cocktails are even better than the beers. When you are in the area again we hope that you come back by and try one of the specialty cocktails we have. Adam More

We ate here while staying at the Argonaut Hotel this past Sept. We ordered fish and their award winning chowder along with one of their local beers to help quench our thirst. Everything tasted delicious!

This restaurant was attached to our hotel and we ate breakfast tree on four occasions. I like honey with my oatmeal and they were out of honey on all four days. Come on, guys.
