If you appreciate a good chowder and a great gumbo, this is a great place for lunch. The food is great, the atmosphere delightful and the location ideal.

My Mother in law brought us here. She had been here before claiming they had the best clam chowder. Well most of us at the table ordered just that in a bread bowl. First of all my bowl was barely hollowed out so I only got about 4 spoonful's of chowder. Second, It really wasn't very good. It had so... More

Our late lunch with the family on a busy Saturday could not be faulted. The waiter was attentive with ice cold water and bread brought to the table without asking. The menu was varied meaning despite us all wanting something different , we were all catered for, burgers, seafood pasta and brunch. For a restaurant in the heart of the... More

Stopped in for lunch on a rare sunny day sat on the patio. Service extremely slow, about 20 min between courses. In the end I just walked the bill to register and paid couldn't take the wait any longer. Ordered oysters on the half shell. Served over melting ice cubes with shellfish floundering in a puddle of water in the... More

WE only stopped in to have some middle of the afternoon drinks during our sightseeing, but I am glad we did. The nautical aspect of the bar allows for a very relaxed feel and a great place to unwind. The bartenders are all very friendly and they make some of the best martinis I had in a long time. (We... More

Yes the crab and corn chowder is to die for! But I enjoy their specialty cocktails....especially the Madam Butterfly! Great service, and I love the patio for people watching.

The chowder was WAY too salty!!! Chef, don't you taste your food? But everything else was very good, including the liquor selection - some very interesting whiskeys. Excellent bread, free refills on soda which is always a plus. We thought the restaurant was very attractive, lively but not too loud. Even an outdoor seating area with heaters. We enjoyed our... I had an excellent club sandwich and fries while relaxing on the patio of the Blue Mermaid. The patio area is very nice and calm even though right next to a very busy street. The service was good but given that I was there a little past the lunch hour, and less than half of the tables were full, could... More

Had dinner and breakfast here. Food was very good. Atmosphere was pleasant. Service was very friendly. Environment was lively, but comfortable. Not too loud, and tables were nicely spaced, so you didn't feel cramped.
