Ate here for breakfast and whilst the food was tasty enough and the service friendly, the food was in our opinion overpriced for what it was. We found better places to have breakfast in Cow Hollow.

More than once this was our late night food stop while visiting San Francisco. The food and service was consistently good. Thank you.

We stayed at the inter continental on Howard st and went to mel's dine in for breakfast each morning. Great food, great atmosphere. Attentive staff and mini duke boxes on each table. Highly recommended

Came here for breakfast. Seated right away but literally waited about 45 min for breakfast which was simple eggs. Scrambled Eggs were good and rye toast but coffee lousy and a breakfast burrito-el ranchero was gross. First few bites of the burrito were good but after that nauseating. Eggs ordered over medium were over cooked. Probably other breakfast places worth... More

As a non-American, we just loved this place on Lombard street that has lots of atmosphere, friendly and efficient staff. We had breakfast there several times during our stay, and we could always find someting new to try. At most tables there is a small juke-box so where you can insert a quarter and choose the music for the restaurant.... More

Mel's makes you feel like it's 1957 again, with the decor, pictures, jukeboxes, and oldies playing in the background. It's a transformation back in time. The food is very good the service was excellent and the prices were reasonable. It's a good time family place. Take the kids and show them how it was.

Service slow, food cold & very overpriced. Waitress got my sons food order wrong, tutted and rolled her eyes at me and threw it back on the counter. When I asked how long the replacement would be, she relied ' I gave you food, you didn't want it'!! Terribly rude. We certainly will not be returning.
