Some in our group enjoyed the ambiance, however, some of us found the noise level horrendous and the prices for really Chinese food way too expensive.

The decor and food is fantastic- definitely a foodie experience. They have a lot of small plates to share, almost like a tapas style. I can highly recommend the roti, cauliflower and green beans. If you are a vegetarian, they can accommodate you in any way. The service was very efficient, great drink list, cool vibe. I would definitely recommend... More

interesting small plates great way to try and share number of interesting dishes. Really wanted to try everything on the menu, but could not eat any more. Had to save room for desert. The two of us each had a drink, many small dishes and one desert. The bill was $70 plus tip Made for an interesting dinner.

Unique fusion of Asian food; all freshly prepared in the open kitchen. Variety of vegetarian dishes. Helpful, courteous and efficient staff. We had lettuce wraps and Sea Bass wrapped in banana leaves....so flavorful and prepared to perfection!

We visited Betelnut in search of spice and found it. The food is excellent from the beans to the lettuce cups to the 5 spice chicken. All very good. The lunch burger is exceptional. Service by the younger waiter with the curly moustache is outstanding. Recommend a visit

After a long day and a nap we went walking around and found this place late on a sunday night (9:30) pm. we were greeted promptly and seated immediately. The service was very good and the food was awsome. It was a little more than we expected, however. We would deffinately would eat here again.

This is long overdue. I dined at Betelenut many times over the past 7 years and it's amazing how consistent the quality of the food and service is. Eli the bartender is the best! The pork short ribs, papaya salad and curry laksa are some of my favorites.

Service was really slow. They forgot drinks and apps took forever. The food was tasty but the portions were really small for the price. The short ribs and calamari were good. The shrimp dish should never be ordered and the roti was a joke. We ordered almost one of each menu item and nothing was memorable. I was here a... More

A trip to SF is not complete without one dinner at Betelnut. There are so many good restaurants in this city, heck in this Union Street neighborhood but this is the one I return to whenever possible. The service can be too hurried but is often so charming/engaging/sassy that its the best part of the evening. The food runs from... More

What a night, started here and had a great meal. Service was pretty bad but then again if it was good I probably wouldn't remember anything. Met our friends after our mAui trip. Needless to say great food, fun ambiance slow service. I really like this place.
