Great place for breakfast on a street filled with people and dogs

We had breakfast outside and enjoyed dog watching while we waited for food. You order your food inside, get your drinks and a number then seat yourself. Love the decor and vibe, very casual, think lounging/coffee shop. The people were really well informed about the food when they took our order and the hardest part was finding a place to sit. Gotta have the Avocado Toast...something so simple but amazing. Filmore is a lot of fun too, Lots of shops and recommend making a day of it.

And in this case...we would agree! The line on a sunny Saturday morning was intimidating but it moved pretty quickly and we were able to snag an outdoor seat for four of us. I ordered the Chinese chicken salad and it was terrific. The kids' menu was fantastic with better-than-normal options including a turkey and avocado sandwich and an almond... More

After a brutal winter in Maine, I was walking around the area looking for a place where I could eat outside and enjoy a perfect morning brunch. I encountered this place and it hit all of my happy buttons. I had perfectly made eggs Benedict with smoked salmon and home-fries with a freshly ground giant coffee. I just sat outside... More

The Grove was awesome. It's in a cool neighborhood with a bit of challenging parking, but not impossible. The service model worked pretty well, but we came in during a rush so there was a bit of wait for food. (You order, pay and they bring it to you. Open seating, 1 hour time limit) The food quality was great... More

Faux Wyoming Ski Cabin look. Now that I got that out of the way, I can say I really like their salads and cookies. They just changed up the menu, and I think they did a good job of adding in more variety and selections. The staff is also super helpful/friendly.

Excellent bar/cafe for brunch - great service, amazing food - the Advocado and Eggs Toast is just what you need. A real neighborhood hangout away from the tourist crowds. Loved it.

We always stay in Japantown when in SF & this place is a short walk. We usually have breakfast, but sometimes it's late & half are having breakfast & half lunch (both are served all day). We ate breakfast here 2 days in a row & when other relatives got in town they wanted to go so we ended up... More

Only went for lunch. You order THEN find a place to sit. There is some outdoor seating; we ate inside as it was raining. Very rustic interior. Food was really good for the price. I would go back again when I am in the area.

This place is popular, mostly I would imagine are local regulars. If you get to know it, find your favourite dishes etc, then it's probably a fine, bustling atmospheric place. Our experience was somewhat less so. It is popular, which is usually a good sign. When busy, you must take a little risk in ordering and hoping tables are available,... More
