Terrific meal, wonderful wine selection and great vibe

Wonderful dinner at A16 last week. I had the burrata salad and the maccaronara ragu napoletana with ricotta. Both were prepared so beautifully. Food tasted fabulous and it was elegant without being stuffy. Perfect size proportions. The dining room was full and we were seated in the back -- in... read more

It was a long time that I didn't enjoy such a good italian cooking. The best is the cost is really decent since you get a real taste of Italy.

Visited for lunch mid week. The waiter was very knowledgeable about the wine and beers and chose 2 great drinks for us. My partners pizza was burned so he chose another. Other then that the pizzas were really nice. Pricey lunch though, 2 drinks, 2 margarita pizzas and some olives for $55.

We were blown away by the extensive (and reasonably priced for the most part) wine list. Our server just happened to be one of their sommeliers and she helped us pick an unfamiliar bottle, based on us telling her what we liked. The wine did not disappoint. The burrata was amazing and all our food was well-prepared. Not sure how... More

With so many options for a trendy wine bar with made from scratcg delicious food, its a shame that the service sort of ruined this place for me. I chose to sit at the bar as I was by myself and only wanted to treat myself to an enjoyable dinner before heading home. The bartender asked if I'd like a drink... More

I have used the A16 cookbook for several years. I finally made it to the restaurant and was not disappointed. The antipasti was superb. The buccatini and other pastas were everything I expected. The only weakness was with the secondi (main course) as it was simply done meats. The secondi was not unlike Italy, so I should not complain.

I’d heard about A16 for years but had never eaten there. I finally made it in for dinner on my birthday. I kept my eye on the ball, stayed focused and ordered pizza. Not sure what's so whoop-tee-do about their crust that I needed to cut it myself *with scissors*, but that was the expectation - so I did it.... More

This was a recommendation from the hotel and sometimes I shy away from those but this place was truly amazing. I was traveling on business and it was my first time in San Francisco and I actually recommended to go back here on my trip. First off the Wine List is amazing. I was lucky and had no reservations but... More

Staying in Marina District

Neighborhood Profile
Marina District
Beautiful homes, beautiful people, and a beautiful backdrop of the Golden Gate Bridge welcome visitors to the Marina. Originally the location for the Panama-Pacific International Exposition in 1915 (whose remnants can be seen at the Palace of Fine Arts), much of the land was filled and flattened to accommodate a world’s fair. That ample space has given way to a jogger’s paradise at the northern edge of the city. With the picturesque bay setting as its backdrop, it’s no surprise that the area has hosted numerous movie productions. Daytime activities focus on café culture and boutique shopping, while the evenings turn this neighborhood into a party-going hotspot.
