Description: A16 is a restaurant and wine bar bringing the delicious and hospitable traditions of lively Campania to San Francisco. The chic, rustic/modernist venue is named after the motorway that transverses the South of Italy. The restaurant features wood oven-fired Neapolitan Pizza and other specialties of Campania such as Maccaronara with ragu napoletana and house-made ricotta salata. The wine bar serves 40 wines by the glass and half bottle carafe. The list is 60 percent Italian, mostly from the South, and the other 40 percent is New World, celebrating premiere Italian varietals grown in California along with many California wines.

We went to this restaurant not knowing what it would be like. It is expensive but worth it! The pizzas are really amazing! I would recommend ordering one pizza at the time, share it and order another one. The service really depends on which waiter you have: it can be really good or really bad. We had a bad one... More

We did early bird dining because we had theater tickets. Service was a bit slow but we may have just been pressed for time. The food was excellent and well worth the visit.

My husband and I went to A16 on a recent trip to San Francisco as it had been recommended to us by a friend. We loved everything about it! The restaurant itself is in a great area (called the Marina) with tons of pretty shops. The atmosphere was fantastic and the service was superb. The food was perfect as well.... More

It's an upscale restaurant with a really long wine list and knock down, drag out good pizza. Also, if you're feeling adventurous try the burrata, it's a fresh mozzarella appetizer. The ambiance was terrific AND the staff was great. Very fun date night place. It's busy all the time, so make a reservation

Ambiance was great. Excellent and attentive service. Noisy, so don't expect a quiet romantic dinner. The margarita pizza sauce was thin and runny causing the center of the pizza to be mushy, but the crust and taste was fabulous. Warning: Lamb meatballs were highly spiced. Order only three unless you share. Wine was extremely expensive but delicious.

My boyfriend and I dined at A16 last week, and thoroughly enjoyed every moment and morsel. The wine list is great - my boyfriend spotted a wine from Italy that he rarely finds on wine lists. I don't recall the name but it had something to do with Pompeii. Yum! We had to wait about 20 minutes for a table... More

I had a great margarita pizza here, the ingredients were very fresh, tomato sauce was bursting with flavor and the pizza crust was amazing. There were not a lot of 'meat lovers' pizzas on the menu. The glass of Riesling was only ok. Pretty pricey but great pizza.

I am a pizza fanatic, to the point where I actually traveled to Naples, Italy just for the pizza. I am a former chef and have lived in New York City, Boston and Chicago and know well the pizza in New Haven too. I have my favorites in each of these places, but since my trip to Italy I have... More

Great food with a knowledgable staff to help you decide what to pair the food with. They have a good selection of wines...I would highly recommend trying one of the desserts and following their recommended wine/port pairing
