My wife and I stumbled across this wonderful brasserie while looking for a good cup of coffee. Being that it was late afternoon already, we had missed the usual coffee hours (the staff was preparing the restaurant for dining). However, everyone was super accommodating and so nice! We got a great spot, had our cappuccino craving satisfied and really enjoyed... More

Local hang out. Must be patient for week end brunch. Friendly service. The very best croissants in the city ... Great coffee... Expensive tea. Love it. This is a real city hang out. If you are going with kids go early. Can be noisy inside. Great outside seating in nice weather--- rather rare in San Francisco. A treasure!

The City, much like another top food destination, New Orleans, does not offer a lot high quality morning breakfast destinations, fine hotels not withstanding. My wife had purchased tickets for the post WW2 Abstract Expressionist exhibit at the de Young, and knowing I'd need to eat something substantial before taking on such a daunting task, I offered to take her... In need of a dog friendly outdoor cafe I walked to find rose's cafe. The coffee , salads , sandwiches And desserts are lovely. Wait staff every time was pleasant , friendly & quick. Heaters are a nice plus for outdoor diners to adjust themselves.

Visiting from Australia, our hotel recommended here. Thought we would show up with no booking at around 8.30 mid week on the off chance we may get in. We were lucky as two, people were just leaving. Loved the atmosphere, the service was great, the food was beautiful, we shared a pizza and fig salad with a carafe of red. Loved... More

While visiting San Francisco, we stumbled upon Rose's and decided the menu looked good, so we stopped for a late lunch. The menu includes wild salmon, which was very appealing to me, but not as a sandwich, and the restaurant was flexible to serve it with a salad. A couple at the next table heard us discussing the menu and... More

We visited early afternoon on a rainy Sunday. We were lucky to get table right away. They also have outside seating. The coffee was excellent and the service friendly and perfect. The ambience was cozy and cheerful. We had the polenta, sausage and poached eggs and the scrambled eggs with home-made toast - all delicious. We will be back!

There was about a 20 minute wait, but there were chairs on the sidewalk outside the door and the (beautiful) people watching (can't recall seeing so many very fit people in one place) in the gorgeous, sunny weather made it go by very quickly. Prices were quite reasonable, especially considering the quality of the food, such as the very popular... More
