Nectar Wine Bar in the Marina neighborhood of San Francisco is one of the best wine bars in San Francisco. Great laid back atmosphere. The wine selection is very good and interesting. The wine flights are definitely worth discovering. They also have a very nice selection of small plates. Great service. The proprietors - Chris and Leah create a great... More

While in SF for a few weeks we visited Nectar twice and would have liked to visit again. First visit we sat at a front bar table and enjoyed 2 flights of reds and 1 flight of whites. Each flight was well put together and had nice wines. The labels here are not the common wines, but rather some nicely... More

Hands down, the most fun wine list in the city! The wine selections are geographically diverse yet veer a bit more toward old world varietals. Wine selections are catagorized according to whether you're a sensualist or a hedonist, etc. The space is cool and chic, with great chill-out music and netflix movies silently projected onto the wall. Their small plate... More

I was here on a Wednesday night and while there were very few people in the lounge, I was there with a small group and we had a great time. They have a fantastic selection of wines and the service staff is great at providing tastings to see if you like the wine or not and honestly, their knowledge was... More

Stopped in for a drink. The place was pretty crowded, but we found some seats. We tried a few flights and they were Ok. Hoping the wine is better in Sonoma (our destination), but enjoyed San Fran for a night. Beautiful city with lots of places like this to hang out.

We went here last Friday before a concert, never having been here before. We had small plates and wine by the glass. The menu is limited. The cheese plate was good. The wine was okay, certainly not of the level of Bin 38, which has fantastic wines by the glass, as well as a more extensive menu. Happy hour from... More

The staff and selection at Nectar are just to die for. The wine flights are the best of any wine bar we have visited on our trip. The owner/sommelier created custom flights for us once we had tried the ones on the menu. We took the Mac and cheese with truffle oil back to the hotel with us and it... More

Staying in Marina District

Neighborhood Profile
Marina District
Beautiful homes, beautiful people, and a beautiful backdrop of the Golden Gate Bridge welcome visitors to the Marina. Originally the location for the Panama-Pacific International Exposition in 1915 (whose remnants can be seen at the Palace of Fine Arts), much of the land was filled and flattened to accommodate a world’s fair. That ample space has given way to a jogger’s paradise at the northern edge of the city. With the picturesque bay setting as its backdrop, it’s no surprise that the area has hosted numerous movie productions. Daytime activities focus on café culture and boutique shopping, while the evenings turn this neighborhood into a party-going hotspot.
