About a 15-20 minute cab ride from the Union Square area, this small, family run restaurant delivers good food at a very reasonable price. The atmosphere is authentic - with no pretentiousness. The staff are extremely knowledgable and gracious. For wine lovers please note that the restaurant only carries Italian and California wines (no South American).

Went for a business dinner. Space is a little small, so had to wait a few minutes for the table to open up, even though we had reservations. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Food was outstanding! I had the soup and then lamb chops. Good wine selection. For dessert must try the poached pears! Excellent cappuccino, and the end... More

Based on the Trip Advisor reviews and a recommendation from a local, we had dinner here. We split the Gnocchi and Veal Scallopini Special of the day. Maybe the great Italian food in Houston made my expectations too high, but I thought the food at Ristorante Milano was just average. The prices were not overly high except for $11 for... More

We had never been to this place before and decided to try it because of all the Trip Advisor recommendations. It is absolutely fabulous! We made our reservation ahead of time because it is a very small place in the Russian Hill neighborhood; very warm & welcoming. The owner kept a sharp eye on every customer and managed to speak with... Every detail of the food and service was outstanding. We had homemade lasagna that was Devine and pasta putinesca with glorious capers, olives and anchovies. The borolo was a perfect compliment to the meal. Our waitress was lovely and very helpful and proficient. The owner, from Rome, was warm and welcoming.

I have used trip advisor to find restaurants all over the world and have never been dissappointed. Ristorante Milano was no exception. Food and service were absolutely excellent. The couple at the table next to us were San Francisco locals and they said they eat at this restaurant often because they said it is the best Italian restaurant in San... More

We had a Saturday evening dinner at Restorante Milano and were very pleased. This is a small, cozy place with a nice neighborhood restaurant atmosphere. However, this is a true restorante in the Italian definition of the term - not a trattoria. All 4 of us have spent time in Milano and 2 of us have spent considerable time there.... More
