San Francisco has many wonderful Italian restaurants, and I have certainly not tried them all by a long shot. However, every time I visit San Francisco, I am drawn back to Ristorante Milano. It is a small cozy spot, moderate in price, that delivers food that absolutely is the real deal: delicious, satisfying and very much like Italy. On our... More

I once lived just a couple of blocks away from Ristorante Milano and dined there very often. I didn't realize how spoiled I had become until I moved to the east coast. A few years ago, I decided to try it again while on a business trip to San Francisco, and was very pleasantly surprised. Virtually, nothing had change. I... More

We went for my birthday. You can always be sure that the food and service are good. Mostly locals go there since it is not in North Beach. Easy to get to and easy to park -- they have a deal with the wine shop nearby that you can park there. Great pastas, very good secondi piatti and nice wine... More

I frequented this restaurant as a nearby resident from 2000 - 2001 and I love going back when I am fortunate to be in San Francisco. Quaint spot that you have to look for to find. They still have the same menu from those many years ago with my favorite dish (Fettuccine alla Ghiotta).

Small, kind of noisy and family attended. They couldn't initially confirm my reservation and waited aprox 30 mins-by then it was quite late and the menu choices where very limited. Wasn't impressed by their chioces nor taste. It will be a one time experienced for us

This neighborhood gem gave us a fantastic meal. We were greeted in a friendly way, shown to a very good table despite being first-time guests. The server explained the menu in a tempting way that made us want all of it. The service was outstanding and the food even better. We let the server pick our wine and he nailed... More

Small, intimate, neighborhood atmosphere with excellent service and food. We really felt apprecIated by waitress and owner. Gnocchi was yummy and swordfish was delicious. At the end of the dinner, they called us a taxi and checked up on us as we waited outside.

Our dinner at Ristorante Milano was just delicious. We shared two appetizers: the Crostini ai Funghi was to die for. My son said the same about his gnocci and my Linguine ai Frutti di mare was fresh and generous and tasty.

My wife and I ate here in late March 2014, having heard about the place by a friend in the neighborhood. It was truly one of the best restaurant meals we have ever had. The staff's recommendations for food and wine were terrific, as was other aspects of their service, and the food was truly terrific. Parking was an issue,... More

Small, local restaurant with a very hands on owner. Service was excellent and the menu had many extremely interesting items. Our group had seafood, veal and pasta entrees....all of which were well prepared and a reasonable size. Definitely a place we will try again and one our Australian friends are already planning a repeat visit before their return to Melbourne.
