Always satisfying, great food, nice staff

My wife and daughter and I have been coming to Ristorante Milano for over 20 years. It became the "go to" place when any of us were either about to go out of town, or just back from a trip or school. We set a reservation through Open Table, walked from our hotel room and got seated immediately. The seating is cozy and tight. Service was professional, food locally sourced and menu interesting. Fresh fish, veal, pork chops, chicken and prosciutto were featured. Portions were large. The food was cooked perfectly. My partner ordered the fresh, grilled swordfish and said it was... More

Could have been what I ordered--bruschetta, angel hair with plum tomatoes-but it was just okay. Bread was meh at best-room temp, no real texture or flavor, and the olive oil had an unpleasant taste. The bruschetta had a nice texture, mozzarella was delicious, but the topping of mashed vegetables lacked flavor. The plum tomatoes in the main dish were lovely... More

I had made a reservation thru Open Table and was greeted warmly upon my arrival. The gentleman, who seated us, was the owner, and very friendly. I mentioned that I was from the east coast and had chosen the restaurant because of the reviews on Trip Advisor. We split a salad and each had a vegetarian pasta dish. We enjoyed... More

The food at this restaurant was fabulous! Everything from the appetizer to the main course to the absolutely fabulous tiramisu was incredible. My husband had gnocchi which was superb, and I had the puttanesca which I can't say enough about. The owner makes certain that he visits each table and does what he can to make it a wonderful experience.

You could say this was organised chaos however it was not just frantic. Booked for 8pm however due to earlier bookings turning up late there was a line and others left. The owner ran around to try and keep everyone happy and succeeded in a way by proving everyone waiting with a free glass of wine. Eventually after and hour+... More

About a 15-20 minute cab ride from the Union Square area, this small, family run restaurant delivers good food at a very reasonable price. The atmosphere is authentic - with no pretentiousness. The staff are extremely knowledgable and gracious. For wine lovers please note that the restaurant only carries Italian and California wines (no South American).

Went for a business dinner. Space is a little small, so had to wait a few minutes for the table to open up, even though we had reservations. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Food was outstanding! I had the soup and then lamb chops. Good wine selection. For dessert must try the poached pears! Excellent cappuccino, and the end... More

Neighborhood Profile
Nob Hill
Swanky and stylish, Nob Hill sits in the heart of the city and is home to amazing architecture and views. The hike to the top can be a challenging workout for those who forego a cable car ride, but they will be rewarded with some of the city’s most beautiful architecture adorning its peak. Originally populated with mansions after the Gold Rush, most if not all were devastated in the 1906 earthquake and fire that followed. Luckily all is not lost; storied hotels and Grace Cathedral surround Huntington Park. Having a drink or dinner while taking in the sunset and views at the "top of the Mark" is tough to beat.
