Authentic Gourmet Italian Cuisine

Without a reservation we lucked out and got the window table. Perfection. Can you quickly get to Italy from the Pacific? You can if you are in San Francisco.... Just go to Pacific Street between Hyde and Larkin and cross the threshold of Risorante Milano. White table cloths, flowers and "bistro-size" -- maybe seating for 40-50 customers and no bar area. Just lovely and quaint. But it is well-acknowledged for its food!... More

Located on the side of Nob Hill, this small Northern Italian Restaurant is very special. It has an excellent wine list, reasonably priced, with many better Italian wines rarely offered by the glass: Try the nebbiolo and the borolo. Excellent soup. Freshly made pasta. The sort of menu where we wanted to order every thing. Relaxed atmosphere. Wonderful service. The... More

My wife and I were on our honeymoon, and were referred to Ristorante Milano by the folks at Allegro Romano, since they were closed. Well, we loved, loved, loved our meal at Milano. The ambiance is great...small place, 12-15 tables tops. We sat at a table for two, on an elevated platform in the restaurant, looking down on the other... More

Very comfortable, with a pleasant, friendly staff. The food is very clean and like homemade. My only comments would be that it might be overrated just a touch and if the restaurant would just step it up a little bit on flavors it would warrant its current rating. That being said, I would go back anyway cause it was pretty... More

First off this is a classic neighborhood establishment. Small but very inviting. Aldo, the owner, personally greets you and provides the specials for the day. The service by all of the staff was attentive and professional. We bookend our trip to Napa by staying in the City on the front and back end of the trip. This place was so... More

We had a wonderful dinner here while we were in town to run the SF Marathon. The restaurant has the feel and ambience of a cafe in Italy. Impeccable service and food. We were warmly greeted by the owner and everything was superb. The lasagna was sublime! Reservations are highly recommended.

You can always tell when it's fresh homemade pasta with fresh ingredients. Mm!! My husband and I enjoyed it so much! He got the ravioli of the day which was stuffed with four cheeses and topped with a homemade fresh tomato sauce and fresh basil. I got the fresh homemade fettuccine with sausage and fresh grape to marks in a... More

two of us dined here in May after reading other reviews on tripadvisor. we arrived a bit early for our reservation and there was only one other couple in the restaurant which made us give pause. we needn't have worried as the food was delicious and the service attentive. this is a ' old school' Italian restaurant with traditional dishes... Staying in Nob Hill

Neighborhood Profile
Nob Hill
Swanky and stylish, Nob Hill sits in the heart of the city and is home to amazing architecture and views. The hike to the top can be a challenging workout for those who forego a cable car ride, but they will be rewarded with some of the city’s most beautiful architecture adorning its peak. Originally populated with mansions after the Gold Rush, most if not all were devastated in the 1906 earthquake and fire that followed. Luckily all is not lost; storied hotels and Grace Cathedral surround Huntington Park. Having a drink or dinner while taking in the sunset and views at the "top of the Mark" is tough to beat.
