Perfect Meal and Service Except for Matre'd

I visited Frascati for the first time last night while visiting my partner's mother who lives just up the street. Service and food were excellent, flavors delicately balanced and a nice range of choices, timing perfect. A great wine selection as well. A waitress served our first bottle of wine and... read more

Day 2 of visiting the City on the Bay. Went for run this morning and passed Frascsti on my run. So happy we gave this place a try. Food was amazing and full of flavors. My son got a steak, my wife got the chicken, and I had pasta. X

Went to restaurant for our first night in San Francisco. Had an amazing evening. Great atmosphere - table right in front of window to people watch. The burrata was amazing!! Has gnochhi as entree and it was delicious. Friends had chicken and looked delicious. All and all - great!!

We dined at Frascati last night. The food was great, the atmosphere was good, and the service was also good. Why not 5 stars? I'm not quite sure. There was just a little something missing. Having to ask for menu descriptions and recommendations was a bit annoying. Typically when you have first time diners, you take a few minutes to... More

This is a lovely little place with nice food and a decent wine list. It is not GREAT food, overall, but very good for the prices charged (Starters $12-24, Soup and salads $10-14, entrees $26-34). We found some dishes delicious, others less exciting. The burrata with prosciutto, fig jam, basil and balsamic on a toasted baguette was delicious. The wild... More

Walking in the area trying to find a restaurant on a Friday night; everything LOUD, packed. Saw Frascati and lucked into a table. A more mature crowd (meaning you could hear yourself talk). The service is outstanding since the servers all police each others' tables; our waitress heeded our request to go slow and didn't put in the order for... More

The location is perfect: corner building in a beautiful neighborhood. We had a window table on an evening when we did not have a reservation but we were early and the owner was kind enough to seat us. The room is decorated with careful attention to every detail. The bar is lovely and the food was great but I loved... More

Frascati's is one of our old standbys in SFO. It's a great neighborhood place on the Powell & Hyde cable car route. In fact that's how I first found it. We were on the cable car headed over to Fishermans Wharf and saw this charming restaurant. We've been going here regularly over the years whenever we're in SFO. It never... More

An extraordinarily pleasant experience! The menu items we selected were extraordinarily 'yummy', the wine appropriately priced & the service was attentive without becoming intrusive. Could not recommend it more highly!!

We dined at Frascati in January '15 and had a lovely night. It is a small and cozy but buzzy neighbourhood place. We were seated on the second level in a dimly lit back room, which unfortunately didn't have the energetic atmosphere from downstairs. Other than that the night was great. Lovely food- would recommend the grilled bread salad to... More

Staying in Russian Hill

Neighborhood Profile
Russian Hill
Russian Hill has evolved into a chic residential neighborhood with outstanding views from every corner. Combined with several great cafes, restaurants, antique shops and boutiques, it’s easy to see why any visitor would gladly leave their heart in San Francisco. Cars line up day after day to drive down Lombard Street, the “crookedest” street in the world, and make the slow creep downhill past charming period homes. Polk Street is the main drag in this neighborhood, where you will find trendy bars, cafes and shops populated with locals, but for one of the most charming rides in the city, grab a cable car heading up and down Hyde Street.
