Really worth it!

Great food and service in a lovely neighborhood-a real find! This small restaurant is well-known for its fine cooking and excellent service. I can recommend the ahi tuna, the wild mushroom risotto, and the octopus salad, but it's probably all good. And I loved the line on the bottom of the menu... read more

Four of us met here on a Saturday evening for a fine meal, except it turned out to be just average. We had the Duck Confit Salad, Octopus Salad, Grilled Break Salads which were all good. The Steak TarTare was just average. We also had Gnocchi for the table which was also nothing to brag about (too much truffle oil).... More

Just took my daughter and friends to dinner at Frascita last week. It was simply delicious ! Great service, excellent food and a fantastic vibe. Not cheap but you get what you pay for ! Will make it a regular dining spot when visiting my daughter. Enjoy !

This is one of our favorite local restaurants. We were here last night and had the octopus salad as a starter and it was perfectly cooked. We also had the mushroom bruschetta, which was good, too, though not as good as the octopus. For mains we had the pork pappardelle, the duck breast and a steak. The meat servings were... More

We had a most enjoyable meal with great food, wine and service. The atmosphere was very cozy and European. Highly recommended.

My family had a great meal tonight, our last night in San Francisco. If you are looking for a memorable experience, dine at Frascati. We had the tomato bisque and gnocchi appetizers. Pork chop, New York strip and fish main courses followed by cream brûlée and panna cotta for dessert. All were a Wonderful combinations of ingredients creating unique flavors.... More

We ate there twice in three days. Everything we tried was excellent: mushroom bruschetta, duck, tomato soup, risotto, and a superb pork chop. There is a lovely Rioja on the wine list which is worth the $68 or so. Great service, nice atmosphere.

This neighborhood gem excels in its service, food and charm. A wide balance of entrees, appetizers and salads make this a worthwhile culinary stop. As foodies my wife and I are always in search of small, out-of-the-way SF experiences, and this is one of the best we've found. Service is friendly, unpretentious, and warm.

This was my first visit to San Francisco and was recommended to me by a friend, we were not disappointed. We had the late dinner service which was perfect, we were there until closing, the last to leave. The menu was so great we couldn't decide so we ordered 3 entrees, 3 mains and 3 desserts so we could try... More

Why Frascati is down in the 40's of best restaurants in San Francisco I have no idea. This place is brilliant. Having eaten at some of the best restaurants in the world, Frascati is right up there in my opinion. Great food, a wonderful ambiance, and service second to none. The favourite dining experience of my life, made all the... More

Staying in Russian Hill

Neighborhood Profile
Russian Hill
Russian Hill has evolved into a chic residential neighborhood with outstanding views from every corner. Combined with several great cafes, restaurants, antique shops and boutiques, it’s easy to see why any visitor would gladly leave their heart in San Francisco. Cars line up day after day to drive down Lombard Street, the “crookedest” street in the world, and make the slow creep downhill past charming period homes. Polk Street is the main drag in this neighborhood, where you will find trendy bars, cafes and shops populated with locals, but for one of the most charming rides in the city, grab a cable car heading up and down Hyde Street.
