Will try again

Good, not great. Gary Danko was incredibly hyped up by my friends, and I liked it, yet not up to the expectations. Will try again in the near future.

This was our second visit and it remains one of our two most favorite restaurants in the world. The other being the Inn at Little Washington in Virginia. I cannot say enough good about the quality of the experience at Gary Danko. The food is sublime and the service exquisite. One of the best things about this restaurant is that... More

Over the years, we have had five elegant dinners at Gary Danko - topped off by the latest one on Wednesday. My measurement for au cuisine is flavor; you get it in every bite at Gary Danko. It started fast with a lovely amuse bouche accented by snappy red caviar beads and finished in my chocolate heaven with a soufflé... More

A fantastic holiday surprise booked by my husband. Phenomenal food for all you foodies out there with excellent service to boot. A wine list that wine lovers would die for (and take out a second mortgage to appreciate!!), but worth every penny!! A definite "occasion" restaurant. The beef and the lobster were amongst the best I've tasted and as for... More

My husband and I came here for Valentines Day on our first trip to San Fran. The food was terrific. The service was even better. They gave out roses and chocolate for the holiday.

One needs to book well in advance to get a before 10 pm reservation. A few weeks in advance, we asked them to put us on a wait-list for an early evening time as we would be just arriving from the Eastern time zone and 6 pm, being 9 on our internal clocks, would be fine. True to their word,... More

We dined at Gary Danko shortly after it originally opened. Our experience was not great. It has gone on however, to become one of the most iconic restaurants in America. We have visited the restaurant the last four nights in a row. To be fair though, on night two we were unable to secure a spot at the bar and... More

This was our second time at Gary Danko and we will return. Compared to other Relais et Chateau chefs, Mr. Danko is unpretentious and gives diners latitude in ordering, as opposed to the dictatorial chefs at other places who insist on a strict, set menu with no changes tolerated. The food is superb. You can order 3,4 5 or more... More

We celebrated my parents' anniversary here and couldn't have made a better choice for so many reasons. The ambiance, the incredible service, and the food..ohhh, the food...far exceeded our already high expectations. There were courses of delectable, beautiful, and impeccably plated delicacies served by gracious and joyful staff who made my parents their first priority. There were glasses of perfectly... More

Gary Danko does not disappoint! With many tasting menu and fine dining options available these days, Gary Danko is still one of the best experiences for the money if you're looking for this type of high quality experience. While they do offer a standard tasting menu, one thing that sets them apart is the option to do a 3, 4... More
