Went to Gary Danko last night after proposing to my girlfriend. Could not have asked for a better way to end the day. From start to finish the entire experience at Gary Danko was great. The staff is incredibly accommodating and of course the food was amazing. Would definitely recommend the cheese platter as well. The desserts they brought out... More

Had a lovely dinner at Gary Danko. Good, typical, high-end, fine dining. Wonderful seafood! Meats and game birds are not to be missed! Venison was a spectacular treat. If you want a memorable evening with excellent cuisine, dine here. Real highlight was the service. Chris, our new wine guy (yeah, we landed a wine guy), MADE THE EXPERIENCE. Opted for... More

I had been dreading using a gift certificate given to us for Gary Danko for our 50th Anniversary for over 6 months. I finally bit the bullet and made reservations for a Monday night. We never dress up but I made my husband wear a tie because what I had read about the place made it seem like it was... More

Gary Danko's was top notch from the time we walked in to the time we left. Upon arrival, they were cleaning up our table and the maitre d' took drink orders and delivered them to our table. The menu is overwhelming. You can either choose from the chef's multi-course meal and just sit back and have him make all the... More

I do not like giving bad reviews. I love food. My favorite aspect of traveling is eating the best food a city has to offer. I do not mind spending money on good food. This review simply reflects my personal experience. With that being said, it is always disappointing to spend a lot of money on a dinner that was... More

My wife and I dined here in April 2014 on vacation I have been to Gary Danko several times prior to this visit, but always was solo while traveling on business, and I always sat at the bar. I had wanted to bring my wife for years, and we finally were able to get to SFO for a weekend getaway... More

I've always wanted to try out Gary Danko and it definitely deserves the Michelin star. Great food and great service. The restaurant itself was small but it had a nice atmosphere where you can actually have a conversation. I had the four course option (1 appetizer and 3 entrees) and it was more than enough food for me. They gave... More

We were in SF to visit our son and wanted an upscale restaurant to treat him to that as a recent college grad he wouldn't probably go to on his own. We had a wonderful dinner! We all had the 4 course meal and chose a bottle of wine that seemed fairly priced. Everything was delicious and beautifully presented. The... More

Upon many recommendations from my friends, I made reservations at this restaurant. The menu is quite overwhelming (so many lengthy choices of courses). The left-hand side of the menu is the chef's choice, if you decide to go that route, your whole meal is picked out for you. The right-hand side of the menu is the part that may take... More

The food, the service….. sublime. The noise level and the proximity of the tables to one another not so much, but the food is so amazing that these annoyances fade away. We had two four-course meals: shared an oyster-caviar appetizer, then I had scallops (tender as butter) and hubby had thai seafood curry (very subtle, fresh flavors), followed by pork... More
