Had a wonderful meal with dear friends here. Great portions and tasty entrée made it one of the best prime rib dinners ever! The accompaniments of cornbread/bread, salad, creamed spinach, creamed corn, & potatoes enhanced the over all dinner. We had early reservations on a Friday so we had no wait time. We shall return!

Wow, that prime rib! Excellent! Gravy also really tasteful! Side dishes are actually kinda bad, except for the mashed potato which was actually really nice. But hey, you're here for the prime rib, forget the rest!

I'm not usually into prime rib, because of the large portion sizes. I've had my fair share of the dish though over the years. I had their smallest portion, and I wish I could have eaten it all, it was perfect! I did waste some space on the bread, which was a bit hard to cut, but tasty. Also shouldn't... More

Enjoyed a nice meal here on a family vacation, and felt House of Prime Rib stacked up well against some of our benchmark restaurants for classic prime rib dinners. As a reference point, we've enjoyed Lawry's in different locations several times over the years, and love The Prime Rib on the east coast (DC, Philly, etc.). Compared to those, House... More

I made reservations way ahead and I am glad I trusted the good reviews here on TA. It was the best Prime Rib dinner ever and also a great show to watch the Chef prepare the meat directly in front of you from the zeppelin shaped carts. Do not expect romantic seating or high fashioned clientele. During our visit it... More

After 50 years the experience contours. Service and quality has declined slightly while prices have increased dramatically. It is still an experience for great prime rib; but, when something is not the way you expect (which, unfortunately happens more often!) be vocal and ask them to take it back or replace it. Don't be intimidated by poor attitudes of staff.... More

A co-worker told me of this place. I made reservations 2 months in advance and soo glad I did. We had a great table in a side room. Nice ambiance which is cozy. Sevice was great. They have a very simple menu but I appreciated it. We're not big eaters so we wanted the smallest cut of meat. For $39.95... More

Trust me, I'm a librarian. And I've enjoyed years and years of prime rib dinners at Lawry's The Prime Rib in Beverly Hills, California. So when we were up in SF, we decided to try this place. Sure wish we hadn't. Service was poor. Food was NOT good - actually, it was pretty tasteless. The booth we were given had... More

Great meat of maybe ever. As italians our benchmark was set on Fiorentina steak. Very surprised to say I enjoyed prime rib more. Meat is ad tender as butter and sides are perfectly matched. Service is outstanding, our server S.B. has been a great support. Cheescake is amazing, even without biscuit. Strongly recommended in a gourmet city.

I was at a disadvantage when I went to dinner here last night. One, I have eaten at long established steak houses like Hugo's Cellar in Vegas & Smith & Wollensky's in NYC & have been blown away. So somehow I had this image in my head going to HPR. Two, I live in San Francisco. I am not a... More
