Tonight the four of us had the pleasure of dining at this old school San Francisco restaurant. The prime rib, loaded bake potatoes, cream spinach and cream corn were all very good and served piping hot. Our waiter was very professional yet personable. Overall a great experience for a great value in a great city!

This was our first dinner in SF and possibly the best we had in town. Made reservations about a month ahead for 6:30. The place was busy when we got there and even more crowded when we left. The small size PR was generous along with the potatoes, spinach, bread and corn bread. The salad was dressed and mixed table... More

I went alone at around 6pm. It was already full of people. Luckily there was a seat at the bar table so dont have to wait. Staffs were very polite and nice. Salad was fresh, crispy and quite a large portion together with warm bread. I ordered a light cut prime rib. It was very tender and the slice is... More

We have dined at House of Prime rib multiple times, both as a couple, and with children. Usually we come for special occasions, but sometimes we dine here just because. It is important to make reservations, 2-3 weeks minimum, especially for a weekend. The food is amazing, from the salads, to the potatoes, and of course, the prime rib. Your... More

We saved the best for last. Our last evening in San Francisco was spent at the House of Prime Rib. I rarely eat red meat, so when I do, I want something really special. I was not disappointed. The prime rib was really tender and flavorful. The baked potato was perfect! The creamed spinach was just right, and the salad... More

The food was great. The waiters were great. The only thing is, we made reservation for 3. The 3rd person was running late, the host refused to seat the 2 of us until the 3rd one arrived. Stood for 30min or more. He said it was policy. It's a stupid policy I would say. So just keep in mind. Second... More

The brass tacks: The prime rib and sides are one of the finest I've ever tasted. Slow cooked seasoned beef is carefully sliced to your preferred size and temp. The house salad and dressing is amazingly delectable, satisfying even the pickiest eaters. Baked potato with everything? You'll get it in giant size! Prefer mashed potatoes instead? Perfect consistently and savory.... More

House of Prime Rib is one of the best culinary experiences one can ask for. Since I was a child Ive been enjoying this restaurant. By far they serve the best primerib and the table side carving adds to the experience. Definitely a must when you visit San Francisco!

The House of Prime Rib does one thing and they do it better than anywhere else. Not only is the beef supurb, everything that comes with the dinner is just as good. They start you off with fresh sourdough bread and a special salad that they mix at the table. I don't like beets but somehow the really thin strips... More

We've been here many times over the years. The main problem is that the place is extremely popular. We were surprised that we got seated fairly quickly after our entire party arrived. The prices have gone up and the service is nice, courteous but very rushed. We got in and out in an hour but we didn't stay for dinner.... More
