This is one of my favorite restaurants. For what you get, its a great price. They have Prime Rib and fish of the day. We were a group of 14. Everything about the meal was perfect. Gota love the spinning salad. I uploaded a picture. I make a point to come here everytime I am in SFO. Its just a... read more

This place really does have the best prime rib! I can still remember the taste everything I had on that night. The service and food were top-notch. Although a bit noisy and rowdy, it was still a fun night out. Definitely put this on your list. Just order the prime rib. Forget about the fish.

Old fashioned kind of place. Service was impeccable-food, well the food is incredible. You can have prime rib or prime rib. Seriously, you could order the fresh fish I suppose. But Jeepers, why would you go to the House of Prime Rib for seafood-particularly in San Francisco. Not sure if they have parking-we walked to the place from the Holiday... More

The prime rib was really juicy and good! I would recommend this place to anyone who wants to eat prime rib in San Francisco! Food is right and the price is right! However, parking can be an issue around the area but if you're willing to pay for valet, then you'll be fine. Valet is $10 per car and tip... More

Anthony Bourdain was right. House of Prime Rib is the best. Retro sans kitsch environment. Best quality meat you could hope for. They do one thing and they do it right. Sides are fabulous.

Fabulous atmosphere, sat at the bar on my first night of being in San Fran, 3 choices of horse radish with my steak! Simple menu and ridiculously tasty food with special cocktails. When I revisit San Fran I will be sure to visit this place again!

The House of Prime Rib is very crowded, even on a Tuesday night. Even though we had a relatively early reservation, we needed to wait 30 minutes before being seated. With that being said, this is an institution in San Francisco and for a good reason. The prime rib is one of the best in the world and it is... More

If you're a Catholic, you go to Rome; if you're a Muslim you go to Mecca; and if you love prime rib you come here. First a warning -- there is typically a six week wait for a table, so plan ahead. I went here with a business colleague, who had been here several times. The decor is what you... More

Crowded, loud, and unnecessarily spicy spinach. The meat is good, specially if you like juice on it.

We decided to try the House of Prime Rib based on TA reviews and other sources and we where glad we did. The charm of the interior was classic old school restaurant. With reservations, we where seated within 5 minutes. The table service was unique and our waiter was into the show. The Prime Rib was truly amazing and the... More

Staying in Nob Hill

Neighborhood Profile
Nob Hill
Swanky and stylish, Nob Hill sits in the heart of the city and is home to amazing architecture and views. The hike to the top can be a challenging workout for those who forego a cable car ride, but they will be rewarded with some of the city’s most beautiful architecture adorning its peak. Originally populated with mansions after the Gold Rush, most if not all were devastated in the 1906 earthquake and fire that followed. Luckily all is not lost; storied hotels and Grace Cathedral surround Huntington Park. Having a drink or dinner while taking in the sunset and views at the "top of the Mark" is tough to beat.
