Been coming here ever since I saw the Anthony Bourdain Layover episode of him eating here. it's fresh it's light. Great seafood carpaccio, I will always come here for a meal. Go early, the lines start as early at 11:45 you can always order a beer while in line; if you are staying in city, then walk or hop on... More

I waited in line at 1030 upon everyone's suggestions. Promptly at 11am the doors opened and we all filled the chairs at the counter. This is a family run business and they all beamed with pride. Everyone was very friendly and helpful. My only disappointment is they didn't have any crab - apparently it is not cram season in sept... More

Counter service only. Cash only. Expect a line (I waited just under and hour on a Saturday afternoon). As far as the atmosphere goes there are few places like this left in the country. That alone would be a reason to check it out. The prices are not outrageous for what you get. The bread & butter were excellent. The... More

While a little expensive considering this is a seaport, the oysters were sublime and the chowder was excellent. Be aware, cash only.

This family owned oyster bar is packed and lively! It sells seafood and is also a restaurant. I was visiting SF and wanted oysters and everybody seemed to recommend this place. It was worth the trip. Oysters are fresh, other "sashimi" dishes with olive oil & lemon juice is also a great option and the smoked salmon! Fresh, great prices!... More

If you love seafood, make sure you jot this joint down in your culinary itinerary. Don't forget that good food is worth waiting in the queue for! We stood in line for almost an hour, & that was at 10.30 am on a Sat morning (we thought we were early!). A little on the pricey side but it is worth... More

There is already a line even before they opened. This is what we ordered. 1. Cracked crab - excellent! 2. Italian sashimi - Tuna, scallop so fresh! Next time i'll skip the olive oil 3. oysters - they're great!

It takes a bit of planning to have a meal at the Swan Oyster Depot. There are only about 15 seats at the long old fashioned counter and no reservations, strictly first come first serve. If you want to increase your chances of getting a seat, go early; chances are you will have to wait in line no matter what... More

This place has the freshest, best seafood in SF. Always full of people. So be prepared to wait for your order. The Crab Salad is my all time favorite!
