There is already a line even before they opened. This is what we ordered. 1. Cracked crab - excellent! 2. Italian sashimi - Tuna, scallop so fresh! Next time i'll skip the olive oil 3. oysters - they're great!

It takes a bit of planning to have a meal at the Swan Oyster Depot. There are only about 15 seats at the long old fashioned counter and no reservations, strictly first come first serve. If you want to increase your chances of getting a seat, go early; chances are you will have to wait in line no matter what... More

This place has the freshest, best seafood in SF. Always full of people. So be prepared to wait for your order. The Crab Salad is my all time favorite!

We arrived just after 10.30am, and got the last two seats. After this there was a queue constantly waiting for one of the 15 odd stools at the counter. It was delicious. The oysters were divine, the crab so sweet, the salmon and scallop sashimi super fresh and the chowder, well we had to have seconds. But best of all... More

We happened to see a line formed outside Swan Oyster Depot's door around lunchtime and decided to join in. Nothing but raves from us. This is a cool seafood shop with a long lunch counter where locals and tourists alike belly up for some of the city's freshest seafood. Highlights include Dungeness crab and raw oysters served with a sauce... More

Arrived at 10:15AM on a Monday morning and there were about 6 people in line already, which meant we were seated promptly when they opened at 10:30. Atmosphere is great - the counter seating feels kind of rustic and cool. My advice would be to do everything as plain and simple as possible. The seafood was outstanding but I was... More

Do not leave San Fransisco without a visit to this place. You understand the meaning of fresh. Best sea food experience with a reasonable price.

I have wanted to go to Swan Oyster Depot for a while. There is always a queue and on this, my first visit the two of us were seated within 10 minutes. Its a long bar so nothing fancy, but everything is done behind the bar and there is a great atmosphere. We had quite a bit to eat and... More

I regularly go to san fransisco for business. I am always looking for the best kept secrets to eat at. The Swan will not let you down. I hate to say it, but it is what it is. The freshest seafoods prepared simply. They all all served cold over ice berg lettuce. Sauces on side. The chowder beats any east... More
