I miss the OLD Cafe Flore!

I have to preface this review with the statement that I have been going to Cafe Flore on almost a weekly basis since about 1991. Fabulous cafe, buzzing atmosphere, delicious food, friendly staff and beautiful sunshine! Ok maybe I can't grant Cafe Floré with the last one! But a really great place for brunch or lunch.

Okay, been going to the Castro for years. And before that lived only two blocks from Cafe Flore. Ate here for the first time yesterday with friends. My suspicions about the place turned out to be true. Over priced food, overly crowded space and long wait times. So the four of us arrived about 3:45pm on a Saturday. Our waiter,... More

Great place to meet someone gay. Right in the middle of all the gay life. There is a outdoor seating area where one can watch the street. The food is OK and it takes a while to get to you. Usually pretty busy.

Cafe Flore was recommended as a cool place for lunch. As you approach the place seems to be very popular and for a party of 6 we were lucky to be shown straight to a table. There are more tables on the outside terrace than inside however there was a general buzz about the place. Unfortunately we had a 45... More

Menu was offered in our seat and order was taken therefrom ; not the usual going to line up by the back area 5. Ordered Mac and cheese... More

Been here many times, every time i come to sf. Used to have to order at the counter and they gave you a number for your food order, you took your own drinks from the bar and the system worked fine. Went back couple of weeks ago and its all changed and for the worse. Theyhave now table service but... More

What the heck happened to Flore? I'm shocked at how unbelievably awful the service has become, and am in mourning over what used to be a wonderful place to experience the "cafe life," with a twist. If you've never been, sorry you got here too late. And don't believe the travel guides that still reference this as a SF icon,... More

We always eat here when visiting this area of San Francisco. Good service, great menu, reasonable and nice ambience. Their Southern Chicken sandwich is HUGE. You will take half home.

A flourishing commercial area that acts as San Francisco's LGBT community center and cultural heart, the Castro is a neighborhood welcome to everyone. As one of the first predominantly LGBT neighborhoods in the United States and currently its largest, it remains one of the epicenters of activism in the nation.
