Don't be put out by the neighborhood, small setting, or prices. It is worth it. Call and find out when they open and be there then, or else you will wait a significant time. Place only seats maybe 30 people. Food is amazing no mater what you get and staff was good.

41 y/o wife: This is a small and popular restaurant, and you may wait awhile for a table. It had a lot of character, and the staff were attentive and friendly. I enjoyed the cold seafood combo plate, but found the Cioppini to be the standout. The garlic bread was buttery and delicious and we ordered more than we needed.... More

Went for dinner, and got a table at the bar almost immediately. Place is rather small so there may be a queue sometimes. Oysters were very fresh, and we had the crab cakes - great as appetizers. Also had one of their specials of the day, pasta with clams - huge portion and very delicious. Service was average though, and... More

On this trip to SF, I was looking to try to find some really good seafood restaurants and bars. My usual mantra is that San Francisco is about 3000 miles from good seafood, and I still stand by that. We ate in various places with more than mediocre seafood, and one upscale place in particular which was advertising "true haddock".... More

This place is fabulous. We had a wait of about 40 minutes in the cold, but the waiter brought out some complimentary cups of chowder for us all to warm us up. And we made friends in the queue. When we got in it was TOTALLY worth the wait. This place is fantastic. Nothing was too much trouble, and the... More

We took our son to Anchor Oyster Bar and as always, had a wonderful meal, bisque, oysters, great house salad ... The food is always great and the wait isn't terrible. You sign in when you get there and depending on the length of the list, you might wait for 30 minutes or so. We got there before six and... More

If it is good food you're looking for...They don't take reservations and so you may have to wait a few minutes but the wait is well worth it. We ate all over the city during a week in San Francisco and this was the best food! There are other places that can seat more people in more comfortable places (Kokkari... More

We had a party of 4 and unfortunately this small friendly neighborhood eatery DO NOT take reservations. And perhaps I can see the reason why. Seating capacity is limited as it is tucked in the middle of a row of shops along the main Castro street of San Francisco. We were there on a Tuesday evening... and if you know... More
