Zazie is a small neighborhood bistro in a historic building in Cole Valley, near the upper Haight and UCSF with a gorgeous well heated garden patio. We are famous for our American style brunch, served seven days/ week, but dinner is the hidden gem- country French cooking at it's best served with warmth.

Plan on waiting quite some time for brunch on Sunday's. Pancakes and eggs were very good and the best thing was no tipping. Locals flock to Zazie's for all meals.

Service was great. Food...delicious! I had the pork chop, melted in my mouth. My husband had chicken. Now since I LOVE goat cheese, I had the goat cheese cream cheesecake and it was superb. Twangy from the goat cheese but not too much. I will be returning to this restaurant!

Very good french food yet not the best of 2 french meals that we had in our few days in San francisco. The biggest disappointment was the creme brûlée that tasted more like greek yogurt than a real french creme brûlée. The rest of the meal was very good but was not as good as Cafe bistro central, which was... More

The duck leg was perfectly cooked, on top of fingerling potatoes and beans, in a wonderful wine and mustard sauce. I ate until I couldn't move. And then had a blueberry and peach crumble--also delicious--anyway! Great service and atmosphere; it's incredible to think that food came out of that tiny kitchen.

I just went with my dad and we were less than impressed with the steel cut oatmeal. It took forever to come out and it was tasteless and way too hot. Stick to the eggs or French toast to make sure you get their best food and get it quickly.

On a recent visit to San Francisco we had dinner at Zazie’s. Our daughter is now a “local” and this is one of her favorite restaurants. The location is convenient and easily accessed on the Muni J train. The host, Saweil (apologies if spelling is wrong) was very welcoming and went above and beyond to seat us very quickly, even... Great little French restaurant highly recommended by the locals, there was a wait when we arrived but it was worth it. Not too pricey but how about a pear mimosa for starters !

Five of us ate here this week for dinner and had a very good experience. Some of the main dishes did not live up to the hype but were still very enjoyable We had a grilled vegetable appetizer and French onion soup which were both very good. We had 5 different entrees and the sauces on a few were not... More

We made a reservation on a Monday at 7:15. Even though a Monday the place was full. Highly recommend reservations. Our server was from Marseille France. Pleasant and knowledgeable. Great small restaurant atmosphere!! Just has a neat feel to it!! Ordered a bottle of Malbec which was served in tumblers (call me old fashioned but I prefer stemware). I ordered... More
