a neighborhood haunt, we love to hang out here--it's got a great vibe, wonderful magazine stand, and a kind of shabby chic. But I avoided the place for a long time because of the coffee. Really was nasty. but they've improved. Now I can drink an espresso drink, but would not recommend the coffee out of the urns. don't come... More

Inside, Farley's is full of people on Notebooks, with a coffee cup beside them. The coffeehouse also has an outdoor space with tables, chairs and benches on the sidewalk. As far as I could tell, customers felt completely at ease occupying a whole table; and maybe that explains the hype about Farley's. There was nothing wrong with the coffee, but... More

I went to the one in Potrero Hill. It was good but for a coffee and scone it was a little pricey. $6 for a blueberry scone and latte. That may not be expensive for SF but it was a smaller portion for the same price than what I'd get in DC. The coffee is incredibly tasty. I still love... More

If you like Hawaiian type of coffee (somewhat sour taste) you might like it here. We've been here maybe a 4-5 times & found the service snarly and curt. There's also some food there but we found another neighborhood hangout nearby that we like better. Farley's is community oriented and often has free events including concerts.

What I love about Farley's is the atmosphere makes you want to come in and not be in a hurry to leave. With not-so-subtle cues like a bookcase full of board games and a huge magazine stand, Farley's says, "Come in, sit down, relax and stay a while." The coffee's good, and there's a nice selection of teas, so you... More

The coffee itself isn't the draw, it's the crowd and the heritage, if you will. Farley's is the social hub of the artistic Potrero Hill neighborhood, Among the artists and photogs who have admired the spectacular views from "Goat Hill" are Wayne Thiebaud and Jim Marshall. Anyway, I digress. Whether inside Farley's or seated outside at the new parklets, thumb... More

Yes, the staff used to have some "you are not cool" attitude, but trust me, that is gone. Management passed to the new generation, and baristas will now smile at you. Atmo still great, comfortable local scene, great coffee and pastries.

I love that they really don't try to too hard to impress and the coffee is exceptional. They support local artist and musicians and have wonderful neighborhood events. What's not to like? Btw: It's a coffee house so prices start at $1.50.

If only the staff were even remotely friendly. The atmosphere is great but the staff are so rude that I just can't spend money here.

I like the atmosphere and random magazine selection.
