Yesterday we went to Ton Kiang at Geary Boulevard. Luckily we made our reservation few days ago knowing that Ton Kiang is always full during week ends. After getting our table at the ground floor, we quickly ordered our all time hakka favorites: steamed bacon with diced mustard greens, steamed salt baked chicken, salt and pepper spare ribs, and seafood... Several of the oyster dishes were quite tasty. The Singapore noodles were flat and tasteless even though we asked for it to be made spicy. The orange chicken was smothered in gooey sauce which was not particularly flavorful and overwhelmed the dish. The shrimp and lobster sauce was okay. Some of the dim sum dishes look quite nice. The scallion... More

I love this place. This is my 3rd time coming to the SF area and I have come here every time. I have never been to another place that compares for dim sum! Super value and lots of variety. Don't skip the dessert dim sum on the menu. They are delicious! Walnut cookies and black sesame mochi! Lunch is most... More

A group of six of us had dim sum here on a Sunday morning. There was a short wait to be seated, not too long. The restaurant is two stories with lots of seats. The food was outstanding and we all felt it was a tremendous value. The trick is to retrain yourself from ordering too much food. Highlights were... More

The food was pretty good, and the people are friendly. We had good dim sum and nice orange beef and sweet and sour pork. Not the best Chinese food, but still very good.

Love this place. I had never eaten dim sum and this was my first dim sum experience many years ago. Ton Kiang is the best dim sum experience I have had. I figured I would try the Dim Sum restaurant in my town and it was not even close to the tasty dishes here at Ton Kiang. Two cons, parking... More

Nice place. Basic decoration. Helps one focus on the delicious food! Good service, too. We went at lunchtime and really enjoyed it!

My wife lived in Asia 9 years. I lived there 6 years. We love Asian food. We only ate dim sum here. It has the traditional steamed buns, but it also has lightly cooked vegetable in delightful, light sauces, meat dishes, etc. We ate the vegetables, especially, the broccoli, snow pea leaves, asparagus, all in light sauces, lightly cooked, nothing... Our second visit in two years. The dim sum was still tasty. The restaurant had a line out the door, but handled the crowd very well. Carts come by at good intervals with minimal waiting. Price is a tad high, but its in the city and comparable with other higher end dim sum places

Recommended by Chinese friends of mine and has been a favorite for Dim Sum for many years. Recently I decided to order from the dinner menu and was very impressed. Being a SF native I have been to numerous Chinese restaurants and this is by far the best!
