First rate dim sum at very reasonable prices in a plain Jane setting.

Come here for excellent and varied dim sum at half the price of the downtown options. Not a fancy setting, but who cares when there's such good eating to be had at bargin prices.

I'm not a dim sum expert but I do enjoy it from time to time. I went to Ton Kiang with a group of family/friends, none of whom were Chinese so we did not go for the more exotic (at least by Caucasian standards) items like chicken feet. However, what we did get was very nicely done...the veggies were crisp... More

We enjoy eating dim sum lunch in San Francisco. The restaurants seem to change slowly and maintain their quality and flavor profiles for a long time. Recent experiences at Yank Sing and Great Eastern make for an easy comparison. Number one goes to Great Eastern by a nose and Ton Kiang gets a close second. Yank Sing gets third due... More

The Dim Sum was excellent. Good ratio of filling to wrapper. The pot stickers and dumplings were the best. Noodles and fried rice were also very good. Shanghai style dumplings were also notable. The only thing that surprised me was how rubbery the squid tentacles were in the Wor Wonton soup. All in all, a very good dinner.

I like everything about this place, but I love the dim sum the best. We had a large group which meant we could try everything, including the chicken feet. We made this our official Christmas dinner and the jumping off point for further excursions to Golden Gate Park.

The service was ok, not great, but then again, the place was packed. The BBQ pork soft bun was the best thing on the menu. The other dim sum was good, but it all starts to taste the same after a while. Then again, we ordered every, piece on the menu!

We dug up this place from trip advisor - best in the area (Richmond)... And i really think it should be best Chinese in all of San Francisco. The trick in this restaurant is that the waiters walk around with trays with the food ready in several variations, and you pick the plate you want. They write on a paper... More

There are only a few dim sum places I would recommend visiting friends to experience in San Francisco - Yang Sing, Ton Kiang and Hong Kong Lounge II are some of them. Yang Sing is VERY expensive, so much so that you really have to not care to eat here. My experience is that they are usually twice the price... More

A dining experience at a restaurant should be enjoyable. Otherwise, why go there? We enjoyed having the Dim Sum, which was very good. Unfortunately, the service overshadowed the food experience. Hopefully, the restaurant owner figures out the importance of service soon. We were promptly seated and handed menus. The waiter never introduced himself, so we were not sure who was... More

Over the past several years we have had lunch or dinner at Ton Kiang and have always been pleased. The Dim Sum is all delicious, as were the other dishes we tried. Our only disappointment was that the prawns in the prawns and lobster dish were extremely small.........
