We dug up this place from trip advisor - best in the area (Richmond)... And i really think it should be best Chinese in all of San Francisco. The trick in this restaurant is that the waiters walk around with trays with the food ready in several variations, and you pick the plate you want. They write on a paper... More

There are only a few dim sum places I would recommend visiting friends to experience in San Francisco - Yang Sing, Ton Kiang and Hong Kong Lounge II are some of them. Yang Sing is VERY expensive, so much so that you really have to not care to eat here. My experience is that they are usually twice the price... More

A dining experience at a restaurant should be enjoyable. Otherwise, why go there? We enjoyed having the Dim Sum, which was very good. Unfortunately, the service overshadowed the food experience. Hopefully, the restaurant owner figures out the importance of service soon. We were promptly seated and handed menus. The waiter never introduced himself, so we were not sure who was... More

Over the past several years we have had lunch or dinner at Ton Kiang and have always been pleased. The Dim Sum is all delicious, as were the other dishes we tried. Our only disappointment was that the prawns in the prawns and lobster dish were extremely small.........

This is a large modern dim sum place. When I went for a Sunday lunch Iour party of three got in with no wait. This was great since I have encountered long waits at other SF dim sum places. There dim sum was good. The wait staff work hard carrying trays of food to show and serve. There were no... More

I ate here a couple times in the past and thought it was better...It seems like the prices have gone up as well. But the service is still very good and the food is above average. Parking can be difficult in Richmond area.

Our party of six dined about 90 minutes here for lunch and ended up spending about $15/person which was a great deal for the variety and quality of food we we were served. This was the first time For Chimese food for two of our members and they loved it. We were not hurried and service was outstanding, although you... More

The heading says it all. I have been to so many places throughout the United States that claim authenticity or are fully staffed by people from China and yet, they all fall short to this remarkable spot. I really cant sing their praises enough. Whenever I am remotely close, I stop in here for a dinner to remember.

First to the food. Should you be in area, say after going to the Legion of Honor, and have an uncontrollable urge for Dim Sum, then head to Ton Kiang for an amazing selection of great goodies. If you cannot find something to eat from the wide array of dishes it would be astonishing. Try to eat in a group... More

While some of the better known Dim Sum places in San Francisco have sharply raised their prices (thank you tech-boom), Ton Kiang out on Geary still offers great food at reasonable prices -- in short, one of the better values for Dim Sum.
