Excellent local find

Wonderful local French bistro. Everything we had was prepared and presented with care and tasted as good as it looked. First class service added to the experience. From the French onion soup and escargot to the creme brûlée we had an amazing dinner

We went to Baker Street Bistro to celebrate the wife's birthday. Best decision for the day. It is now our new favorite french place to go in the city. The food. Wvery dish from aperitif to entrée to dessert was excellent. I ordered the charcuterie and it was fantastic. A nice selection of cured meats and paté large enough to... More

We were heading out the the SF Palace of Fine Arts and decided to drop in for lunch. We were greeted by a very friendly woman (French - I assume the owner) who provided us with first rate service. The food was very good yet simple. A neighbourhood gem.

A small neighborhood restaurant, small but complete menu with added menu additions. They have been in business for a few decades and whatever they are doing, it's the right thing. Chantel was most gracious and our menu choices were spot on! The restaurant was highly recommended and did not disappoint! MY Overall Rating is VERY GOOD.......not Terrible. I don't know... More

Had a wonderful light lunch here on Mother's Day. A limited menu, but each dish was beautifully executed. The poached eggs were perfect. Salad greens and vinaigrette were fresh and perfectly balanced. The serving sizes were also just right- not a gargantuan pile of food, but a thoughtfully presented and carefully prepared meal. My poached egg with sliced smoked salmon... More

Reasonably priced, with good to very good food. Easy parking nearby or 1 block from the Lombard bus line. Have been there several times and always enjoy it. Also like if for breakfast on weekends. Take the Lombard bus, get off, eat then get back on and go to the Golden Gate bridge, and walk across. On Tuesday they have a... More

Out of the way but worth the cab ride. Mostly savvy locals. Tight seating, so noise is an issue. If u speak some French, it would help. On-line menu does not represent many specials. Service attentive despite being full. Desserts are ample and 3 we ordered all excellent; strawberries in syrup with balsamic vinegar and pepper were shockingly good.

A great spot for a romantic dinner. In nice weather you can dine on the outdoor patio. A very European vibe with good service and excellent French Bistro-style food.

Staying in Marina District

Neighborhood Profile
Marina District
Beautiful homes, beautiful people, and a beautiful backdrop of the Golden Gate Bridge welcome visitors to the Marina. Originally the location for the Panama-Pacific International Exposition in 1915 (whose remnants can be seen at the Palace of Fine Arts), much of the land was filled and flattened to accommodate a world’s fair. That ample space has given way to a jogger’s paradise at the northern edge of the city. With the picturesque bay setting as its backdrop, it’s no surprise that the area has hosted numerous movie productions. Daytime activities focus on café culture and boutique shopping, while the evenings turn this neighborhood into a party-going hotspot.
