We ate breakfast here after the place we were originally going to wasn't open. So glad for that or we would never have found Baker Street Bistro. The restaurant is small but it's comfortable and the service was great. We got there right before a few big parties but we never felt looked over or forgotten about. We both had... More

My wife and I visited this restaurant on a rare, warm evening. We sat at an outside table with our dogs. My wife had a fish stew which, she said, was fabulous. I had a very tasty lamb stew. The waitress was both friendly and fun, and the prices were very reasonable (for San Francisco). We enjoyed our dining very... More

Baker St Bistro has been around for years. The people who run it are always friendly. They even accommodated us when we decided to throw a bridal shower there with 15 people. They serve the best eggs Benedict, and good coffee. But if you like soy in your coffee (Silk Creamer) or half & half bring your own, they only... More

We had a great dinner on New Year's Eve. Food was delicious, and our waiter was attentive and gracious. This restaurant has a very intimate, warm vibe. They have done well with their lighting. Indoor and outdoor seating available. We had Coquilles St-Jacques au Coulis de Poivron Rouge, Puree de Brocolis & Courgettes Sautees and Beef Wellington. Both dishes were... More

Better than any Croque we ate in France. Lots of cheese. Uncrowded. Very close to Presidio East Gate.

Went hiking for the day in Golden gate park. Visited a locals bar (final final) and received the recommendation. We had walked by earlier and my GF didn't like the look of it (chairs up on the tables - it's a European thing perhaps?) - but we went anyway - and thank goodness we did. Great french attitude - right... More

Had one lunch and one dinner here. Food and service were outstanding. Yes, it's a bit pricey; but whaddaya expect in San Francisco. Location in northwest part of town, not far from Presidio. Facility and furnishings far from new, but it probably represents a somewhat typical French restaurant with all (as far as I could tell) staff French-speaking.

This is a very unpretentious neighborhood bistro just off Lombard Street near the Presidio that's been around for 20 plus years. The mussels looked like a large serving so we opted to share an order of Moules Provencale for $20 plus fries for an additional $3. We accompanied this with a warm goat cheese salad for $10 and a lovely... More

Very attentive wait staff. Very French cuisine, which on its own hook would be 5 stars, except for the chevre chaud salad, where the chevre came coated. Tables way too close together. Prices seem very very high...

This is a neighborhood bistro with a distinct French flavor. Quirky ambiance -- mirrors twelve feet above the floor -- but extraordinary service and extra effort to accommodate the customers. We sat next to the kitchen and could hear the staff having a good time -- reflected in the good flavors they were sending out. I wouldn't say it's San... More
