Very Good Cuban Food

We were on Haight looking at all the sketchy people and places and got hungry for lunch. This was recommended by a review sight. I eat Cuban often and this place in my opinion is very good, so the reviews were correct. One nice thing was the flan. I am not a huge flan fan, but we were still... read more

Occured Saturday night, 05/16/2015 at 11pm. From the moment we walked in, the woman bartender acted as if she had something against us. She tried too hard to act sexual and did a weird pose (leaning forward to pump up her chest) before she could talk to us. It was soooo weird. She was rude, disrespecful and could careless about... We read a lot of great reviews for this place but the truth is, it's just another average restaurant serving Mexican food. Service was great though, our waitress was very pleasant

The man who checked us in was terrific!!! The atmosphere was unique and fun. The sangria was AWESOME! We ate small plates which were in no way small as the portions were large. This place was hopping with people and the food came out quickly. It was hot and delicious! We had a pitcher of sangria... YUM! Fried potatoes which... More

Three of our party of four ordered a classic Cuban sandwich. The fourth wished he did. Excellent sandwich!

This restaurant had come highly recommended, and we are so glad we went there. Two of us got the Cuban sandwich, and two other family members would have eaten ours if we had let them. They were really good! The service is great, and the restaurant itself has tons of character. Would definitely eat here again!

I've been coming here since 1988 and this tapas joint still packs them in on the weekends and most nights until 9pm, but after that, you can breeze right in. So if you're in the Haight, and you're looking for an excellent bite you can't find a better place that always serves up great tapas.

I lived in the Haight for many years and this was one of my favorite local places. I love the chicken in cream sauce, the warm bacon salad, and especially the fried potatoes. I no longer live in San Francisco, but believe me, I think about this restaurant all the time. But go for lunch when you'll always be able... More

Great food with a really nice taste! Great ambiance, even though a little too noisy to be able to speak properly. But I will definitely come back here!

Staying in Haight-Ashbury

Neighborhood Profile
Haight-Ashbury
The area surrounding the intersection of Haight and Ashbury streets, “The Haight” still exudes vibes of the 1960s counterculture as a haven for vintage clothes, music, pop posters and body piercing shops. While the Summer of Love ended decades ago, Haight-Ashbury has turned into a melting pot of hippies, hipsters, and professionals. Walking through its streets can still feel like stepping back in time. A must-see neighborhood for most music fans, it’s easy to see why these streets attracted the likes of the Grateful Dead and Janis Joplin. You’ll likely be content in The Haight day or night, just be sure to wear some flowers in your hair.
