Fun, food was good

We stopped in here after a very LONG bike ride through Golden Gate Park. We were hungry so the cold beer and mexican food really hit the spot. We ate lunch so the place was just filled with diners (no craziness). The food was fresh and delicious.

This place came highly recommended and was very busy when we arrived for lunch. It is extremely popular so be prepared to have a little wait at the bar - not really a hardship for us! The decor is really interesting with lots of nick-nacks and kitsch bits and pieces covering the walls which gives the restaurant a great feel.... More

We stopped here for dinner with our local friends while visiting, they had been raving about it and we were not disappointed. We arrived at about 6:30pm and got the last available table, after that people were always standing outside waiting for a table. We ordered a bunch of the tapas, they were all tasty but our favorites were the... More

Atmosphere was nice, place was packed, we got the last table available. Food was not as good as we had hoped. perhaps our expectations were too high.

Cha Cha Cha restaurant was recommended to me when I was going to visit Haight Ashbury. The staff were very friendly and the deco extremely quirky. Food had a very definite Spanish/Cuban/Cajun flare and I tried one of their signature dishes Pork Ropa Veija (Pulled Pork dish) with Red Sangria to wash it down... They are also known for their... Good appitizers, but awesome Sangria! Have enjoyed dinner here in the past - but tonight just had a shrimp plate and a chicken plate. Yummy! Parking in this neighborhood is tough.

Went there for lunch with a friend yesterday. We ordered the Cajun Shrimp, which was creamier than I expected, but very good. The Platanos Maduros was the first thing to disappear between the two of us. It's served with a black bean sauce. I also really enjoyed the Jerk Chicken. I like spicy food, and they weren't kidding when they... More

I came across Cha Cha Cha when I was looking for somewhere I felt comfortable sitting in and having lunch and a drink as a lone girl. The place is very eclectic and interesting, the servers are very friendly but aren't overly bothersome (being English, I don't like being asked by every single staff member if I'm enjoying my food... This is a tapas restaurant and they were delicious! We had a variety of food: Cha3 jerk chicken, Cajun shrimp, marinated guava and spicy chicken wings, steak in onions and chips with guacamole. All of which were beyond any of our expectations. So very delicious and filling. We agreed that they had one of the best guacamole we've ever had.... More

We had a great lunch at Cha Cha Cha after record shopping at Amoeba Records. The five of us ordered an array of small plates to share. Chicken paillard, marinated chicken wings, a shrimp special, fried new potatoes, chicken curry empanada, and a steak sandwich. Everything was outstanding! Well-made, flavorful dishes with portions that are great for sharing. By far... More

Staying in Haight-Ashbury

Neighborhood Profile
Haight-Ashbury
The area surrounding the intersection of Haight and Ashbury streets, “The Haight” still exudes vibes of the 1960s counterculture as a haven for vintage clothes, music, pop posters and body piercing shops. While the Summer of Love ended decades ago, Haight-Ashbury has turned into a melting pot of hippies, hipsters, and professionals. Walking through its streets can still feel like stepping back in time. A must-see neighborhood for most music fans, it’s easy to see why these streets attracted the likes of the Grateful Dead and Janis Joplin. You’ll likely be content in The Haight day or night, just be sure to wear some flowers in your hair.
