Not Quite The Full Latino Experience

Had to wait for a table as the place was jam packed but it gave us a reason to hang out in the bar and try the Sangria. The place was overcrowded with the tables packed in so tight I was not surprised how poor the service was. The employees and waiters etc looked fed up and tired although the... read more

This place is fun and a little funky. The appetizers varied - some were wonderful, and unfortunately, some were pretty poor. The main meals that we had were really good, though. Sangrias are ok - not great, but ok!

Quirky, interesting, vibrant place to eat! The food was delicious - tapas fusion- and they do the best sangria!! We visited with adults and teenagers and everyone loved it!

Happy hour appetizer/tapas specials were great and large portions (for tapas). Try the Pork Quesadilla.

Sadly this review will be the only negative one from my trip to San Fran. We visited this place because of the good reviews but it was impossible to try it out. We were seated for twenty minutes and nobody came to take our order. Not even to ask us what we wanted to drink. At one point one waitress... More

Great food but service - meh. All too cool for school in there. Left waiting for almost 30 mins for food, never asked for a drink, didn't even say thanks on departure! Food yum though. Chef is let down by front of house.

This place came highly recommended and was very busy when we arrived for lunch. It is extremely popular so be prepared to have a little wait at the bar - not really a hardship for us! The decor is really interesting with lots of nick-nacks and kitsch bits and pieces covering the walls which gives the restaurant a great feel.... More

Pallea is the must!! They have the best Sangria I ever tasted. It was my first meal in SAN FRANCISCO. Everyone was impressed. We had a good time there. Best meal!

We stopped in here after a very LONG bike ride through Golden Gate Park. We were hungry so the cold beer and mexican food really hit the spot. We ate lunch so the place was just filled with diners (no craziness). The food was fresh and delicious.

Staying in Haight-Ashbury

Neighborhood Profile
Haight-Ashbury
The area surrounding the intersection of Haight and Ashbury streets, “The Haight” still exudes vibes of the 1960s counterculture as a haven for vintage clothes, music, pop posters and body piercing shops. While the Summer of Love ended decades ago, Haight-Ashbury has turned into a melting pot of hippies, hipsters, and professionals. Walking through its streets can still feel like stepping back in time. A must-see neighborhood for most music fans, it’s easy to see why these streets attracted the likes of the Grateful Dead and Janis Joplin. You’ll likely be content in The Haight day or night, just be sure to wear some flowers in your hair.
