This place ticks all the boxes. The food here is amazing, I'm particularly partial to the beef Musaman curry. The service is brilliant and feel of the restaurant lends itself to a romantic meal, family get together or just a feed with friends. The wine list is comprehensive with something for everyone. I've been to many Thai restaurants up and... More

Khan Toke is my most fave Thai restaurant in SF. Not because it has the best Thai food, but because of the entire dining experience. This is like no other Thai restaurant I have been to. It looks to be a converted house. The restaurant has been in business for over 35 years. You first take off your shoes as... More

Khan Toke was such a unique beautiful experience. My boyfriend and I went on a Sunday night after biking around San Francisco. We were led to a hand carved wood table, so beautiful and cool to look at. The ambiance was cozy and romantic, although I could also see coming here with a bunch of friends. The food was great!... The best thing about Khan Toke is the architecture. The walls are wood paneling and in our area there was a carved Thai mermaid. Patrons take off their shoes and sit on pillows on the floor, though the tables have sunken areas so that patrons can sit with their legs below. There appears to be a nice garden outside, though... I went there 33 years ago when it first opened, it was cutting edge. Well the owner must be to old to watch the quality. He used to comment to me about other restaurants not being real Thai food and he was right then. Interior wise it is still kind of cool, take your shoes off, sit on floor, or... More

This is the best thai food I have ever had. I've been here around 10 times now and the food is so tasty and fresh. The staff are lovely and very helpful. Great atmosphere and great value for money. Love this place

I searched the web for "best Thai lunch San Francisco" and this was high on the list. Although we couldn't find a hostess, and were seated right next to only other people in the restaurant, we were delighted with the food choices and $$! As it turned out, the other couple had been eating here for 30 years...same chef...and they... More

Seriously, I've had some of the best meals of my life here. I moved to Denver, but whenever I go back to SF, Khan Toke is on my list of "must dos." Besides consistently wonderful food, it has a beautiful and peaceful atmosphere that has not changed a bit since the late 80's!

On Sunday, early evening, my wife an I decided to visit Khan Toke Thai House Restaurant. I had been there in 1997 and good memories came to my mind, so I wanted my wife to experience the mystic style of the restaurant. We were asked to take off our shoes, same as it was done back in 1997. Soft light... More
