I keep kosher and am also very into vegan food so this was perfect. My mom and I started with spring rolls, which were great. I ordered the tofu balls with broccoli and my mom got the sweet and sour spare ribs and they were both delicious! The sauce really added to it as well. Although a small, "dated" place,... More

We were visiting San Francisco today and found the Shangri-La by searching online for a vegetarian Chinese restaurant. We were given wonderful and fast service and the food was delicious!! We will definitely come back when we visit the city again!

I've been a regular customer to this great restaurant for the last 20 years. I was living 'round the block and ordered several times a week. I was mostly vegetarian (no red meat) still eating some fish, eggs, etc. I always like their food and the large selection on their menu. For the last few years I have moved away... More

Awesome family restaurant. All Vegan/Vegetarian/Kosher, even voted best Kosher food in SF!!!! The food is great and very affordable, any entree will serve 2 people. I will say that Veggie Heaven in Teaneck, NJ is better, but this was good. I would avoid any of the "beef" items, as Seitan does not do beef well. The Hot and Sour soup... More

Charming little restaurant run by a husband and wife. Decor is definitely dated, but don't let this put you off. Food is excellent and fresh. The service is warm and friendly. Obviously this is a vegetarian restaurant, but the selection of food is amazing and there is something for everyone.

Shangri-La is a cozy Chinese Buddhist restaurant on Irving Street that serves consistently good veg food at good prices. This small, informal restaurant has excellent hot-and-sour soup as well as delicious dumplings and tasty twice-fried tofu. The cold noodles are also really good. Not everything here is great, but enough of it is good. Also, for those who may be... More

We keep kosher at home but eat vegetarian on the road. However, a trip to San Fran isn't complete without a meal at Shangri-La. Seriously. Love this place. The food is tasty and not too salty. Portions are generous. The meal always comes with an appetizer of some lightly pickled veggies. The staff is really nice and helpful (they gave... More

My husband, teenage kids and I went to this restaurant on our visit to San Francisco. We loved it!! We ordered the family meal which started out with delicious soup and then an appetizer. Then came a main dish for each person served family style on a lazy susan in the middle of the table. This was topped off by... More

My son is a vegetarian, and we love Chinese food, so on recent trip to San Francisco we visited all three vegetarian-Chinese restaurants in town (there may be more - we found only three). This was definitely the best - good food and very reasonable prices. I did not care for the "simulated beef", but the rest of the "meats"... More
