The duck in Filo was spectacular. Many layers of flavors. Truly special. Lamb shank was fall off the bone and the best I have had....and that is saying something as my ex is an amazing coke and her lamb shank had never been beaten till now. Only bad is the service was not at the same standard. Starting out and... More

Food was good but not amazing, it was really far from the financial district where we were staying so plan on a 20-25 minute cab ride. The appetizer with the mixed hummus was delicious, our meals were a bit of a disappointment. I guess our expectations were really high.

Despite thousands of resto meals all over the world, I guess I'm too cheap or too poorly organized to have ever eaten in a Michelin starred spot. So I was a bit surprised at Aziza. The food was great, and having lived in Montreal for years, I have had more than a bit of North African food. However, I expected... More

My husband and I went there for our anniversary night, our waiter was so rude that when I asked him do you have pommegranate martini he replid "I dont know" you can at least check with the bar!!! The food presentation was good, the spreads were tasty, beef was good, music was pop music which was strange and for this... More

I was a little jingoistically apprehensive at the thought of a Moroccan fine dining experience, I should not have been so judgmental. The food; and the presentation were outstanding. The spread appetizers were excellent, as was the duck confit basteeya. Our main courses were also excellent. I had never had lamb belly before, and it was the fatty, luscious lamb... More

We had read excellent reviews of this restaurant (trip advisor, guardian, lonely planet) so we were excited. We had the tasting menu (not cheap by any means, at $98/each). Service was very good, and food presentation was well done. But sadly, the food was awful! Avoid the tasting menu at all costs (not sure the regular menu is much better)!... More

Go for the flavors, highly unique and inventive cocktails but skip the desserts which are so-so. Great spreads, toasted and seasoned fresh from the oven bread triangles, olives with wonderful warmth and light spices, meat tartar in cubes with tasty seasonings, raw fish perfectly seasoned with hearts of palm, fish of day served with crispy skin and flavorful accompaniments, couscous... I ordered the Couscous and it was ok, but didn't have the "wow" factor. My girlfriend had the Australian snapper and it was delicious. It is not conveniently located, plan on a 25 to 30 minute drive from the financial district. Atmosphere was pleasant, service was good.

We were driving down Geary, actually looking for a sushi place and a parking spot when we came across this place. No reservation, but we were seated at the bar... Only six seats, but we decided to stay... and that was a good idea. Had appetizers with various flatbread spreads - great presentation and flavor. Then main course... lamb shank... More
