My review may be biased by the fact that we were initially seated outside and had to move inside because of an obnoxiously loud group behind us, who did not quiet down despite our glares as well the glares and comments from another table of 5 people seated outside. Once moved inside, we were squeezed between a wall and the... More

This was my second time here and it was terrific. The restaurant is out of the way, tucked down an alley across from a superb florist shop. There is indoor and outdoor seating. This time we ate indoors. The menu choices are varied and made with very fresh ingredients. The wine list is mostly Italian and is well chosen. The service... More

I chose this restaurant based on it's popularity amoung the cole valley neighborhood facebook page. Over all, mostly disappointing. We we're sat practically in the kitchen where NO other patrons were seated. We enjoyed all of the 'music' coming out of then kitchen including a dropped bin of flatware. Crammed against the wall, mostly forgotten by staff. Very pleased with... More

This is an unusual location. Really. From the sidewalk at the street, one must pass between buildings to the area of the restaurant which was two noisy rooms and an outside seating area. Some might think this quaint, others are left to wonder. The food was good, but pricey. The wine selection is outstanding and pricey as well. Our group... More

One got the impression this establishment knows how to do what they do. Nothing exceptional but steady as she goes food and service. I'd go back and can recommend but not for a night to impress visitors. Food was fine and service friendly but not exceptional (as stated). No cocktails here either just wine and beer.

The spouse had been here before and thought it charming. My first reservation came when I was told it was 'down an alley'. Indeed it was, and in limited space. Tables were crowded so close together you could not help but hear you neighbors conversations. The noise was unimaginable. Finally seated we eventually got a waiter and menus, and then... More

While the menu sound fantastic the food is just ok. The wine list is very good. The service was not up to par. Haven't been there in a while and it will be a while till I go back.

My husband and I are 'foodies' ~ this being said, the food at Sociale was bleh... First, we ordered the Heirloom Tomato Salad $13: the tomatoes were slightly overripe/mushy. Next, we had their special pasta dish, Papparedlle w/Braised Duck $21 (recommended by our server who said this dish is 'very popular with our patrons'). Our server told us that this... More

Really enjoyed this place. In an easy to get to area (* see below for added recommendation). First thing you notice is the pathway leading down a little side street. Has a European feel to it and immediately adds some ambiance. There is outdoor seating which is quite popular year round. They do have outdoor heaters. The inside is cozy... More
