Always delicious

This place is always delicious - I don't think you can go wrong with anything on the menu. The only downside is the very long lines during prime dinner time and on weekends. I frequently see long lines even at 10pm. We got very lucky taking visiting family here for a late lunch and snagged the only... read more

This restaurant looks better on the inside than it would seem from the outside. And the food is super tasty! It is not so much that the food is spicy, but rather, the combination of flavors and textures that are unusual and balanced. For instance, the Tea Leaf Salad is presented with it's components in different quadrants of the plate... More

I love the food but the lines are horrendous and it's kind of expensive. Still, an SF landmark worthy of a visit.

This place is amazing, offering a wide menu of very different foods. Their House Brew is fantastic and a Must Try! goes great with their food. Many dished come with table side server prepares. Very high quality ingredients! Service was quick and friendly. We had to wait for our table just 10-15 min, they have a comfortable bench outside with... More

I've been eating at Burma Super Star since they opened. Sadly I live 90 minutes from the city now, so only get there a couple times a year. Their food is reliably wonderful. I went last night and my friend I started by sharing the Tea Leaf Salad and the Fried Tofu. Both are unexpectedly delicious. The tea leaf salad... More

A family member living in San Francisco recommended Burma Superstar to us and specifically the tea leaf salad. We were told yo call ahead to put our name on the list, as the place gets crowded with locals. Outside the smell of the fabulous spices used in their dishes welcomed us and we were promptly seated. Warm service and excellent... More

This is a tiny hole in the wall restaurant, that focuses on "family style" eating (e.g. order a couple of entrees to split among you), and that's rather unfortunate - because it's extremely popular, and cramped. If you're wanting a relaxing place to eat, chat, and recover from walking 30 miles across the bay city, then this is certainly not... More

I'm impatience so not allowing reservations and having people wait for hours is not exactly my ideas of fun. By the time we get the food, it's ho hum. Not to mention Clement is a pain for me to get to.

Every time we return to San Francisco we return to the Burma Superstar. The food is wonderful, Cannot recommend any dish because they are all good.Google up the menu. There is usually a line, but there is a bench outside where you can sit and fix yourself a tea while waiting....how good is that?

It's been a long time since I've eaten at Burma Superstar, and it was as heavenly now as it was years ago. I was in town for a conference in Nob Hill and a co-worker that was with me had not spent much time in San Francisco previously, so on our down time I took it upon myself to show... More
