Excellent Asian Fusion/ Burmese Food but watch out for wait times!

Don't miss their tea-leaf salad and samosa soup. Great options for vegetarians. They are a fairly small/medium sized place and are usually packed with people. So watch out for their wait times because they don't do reservations.

I made it out for the 11.30 opening and had no trouble getting a seat although there was small queue already forming. On the suggestion of the waiter I took the pork with potatoes curry marinated in pickled mangoes. The dish was ok but one dimensional and lacking the wow factor I was hoping for given the restaurant's reputation. I'm... More

Delicious aromas waft through the air when entering this non-assuming restaurant. Dish after dish was simply delicious. The food was not only great but the prices were also very reasonable. This restaurant is definitely a keeper! Can't wait to return!

We ate here because we wanted to compare Burma Superstar to another competitive Burmese restaurant nearby called Man....y. Both were very good despite the differences or maybe because of the differences. Burma SS is smaller and very congested to eat here. We had the table for four right in the middle of the dining room so every time a waiter... More

This is a very small restaurant with some interesting food. I got the Sumosa Soup, which is vegetarian, delicious, and a little spicy. It wasn't loaded with veggies - which would be the one thing I'd suggest to make it a bit better, but it was excellent as it was. On a previous trip, my daughter had the vegetarian version... More

What a fantastic meal, even after waiting 90 minutes for a table. Everything we tasted we enjoyed - Tea Leaf Salad, Nan Pia, Platha & dip (special bread with chicken curry sauce), Lamb curry and peashoots were all excellent. Followed-up with their special rice pudding, yum. Table next to us were regular diners and recommended the Burmese (rather than Chinese)... More

Returned after a decade and found the food was still great, had a late lunch so the wait was not long (they do not take reservations). Tea salad and a fish dish to share, beer lemonades were great and its always pleasant to return to familiar flavors knowing one of your favourite restaurants remains the same.

This area and this restaurant is killer. You probably can't go wrong in many different spots but this place rocks. The tea salad was great. Fermented tea leaves, fried garlic, several beans, lemon and romaine lettuce were a great match. They are very friendly, it is a very small place with very loyal customers.

We came here for a late lunch on a weekday after visiting the Golden Gate Park and we didn't have to wait for a table. There's a bus that you can take in front of the Park to get you to a bus stop that's a 5 min walk from this restaurant. We tried the legendary tea leaf salad which... More

One of those great things about TA. I put in price range, cuisine and out popped this gem. It was about a 20 minute bus ride on Bus#2 from Sutter/Taylor. Everything was worthy of its top 25 rating. Friendly, engaging and helpful service in a pretty small restaurant. We ate lunch at opening on a Sunday, so no wait. We... More
