WOW - Don't miss the Tea Leaf Salad and Sesame Tofu

Fantastic. Get to the nearest one (SF, Oakland, Alameda) and enjoy. Loved the tea leaf salad, sesame tofu and side of coconut rice. We washed it down with thai iced tea and Burma ale. YUM. The garlic noodles were bland by comparison. So many other enticing items on the menu - we'll have to... read more

This was our first time trying Burmese food, we just happened to go here for dinner as most restaurants were closing late at night. We were starving and asked for the most popular dishes. When we were recommended Green Tea leaf salad, I was doubtful about such a salad but this was the most delicious salad I have ever had.... More

The Burma Superstar is a small restaurant with a fun atmosphere and great food! The service was excellent and the food was really good. The Tea leaf salad was wonderful as always. I paired it with the Nan Pia Dok, a coconut curry with chicken and flat noodles. It had a subtle flavor and went well with the coconut rice.... More

Every time I visit my friend who lives in SF we go to Burma Superstar. Even though SF is a huge foodie city, even though there are a million other restaurants I should try, etc. But I just love this food so much!!! Add in the fact that my friend is a vegetarian so I've only had their veggie dishes... More

We have been to several of the Burma restaurants, and they are all fantastic...!!! This was the first in SF, and this time, we jumped the long line, outside, by ordering take-out... Everything on their menu seemed fantastic, so we relied on the excellent lady on the phone... She recommended their famous fermented tea leaf salad, also Pork Curry with... More

We went to this restaurant after hiking for several hours around NW SF. The 3 of us got there after 2PM and there was still a line outside. After a 15min wait we were seated and quickly ordered 3 dishes: Pork Curry with Potatoes, Burmese Chicken and Shrimp Casserole, and Rainbow Salad. All 3 dishes were good with the first... More

And you will salivate with all the wonderful smells emanating! Definitely worth the wait, and you have to try the fermented tea leaf salad.

This was the first Buremese restaurant in SF we were excited to try based on the reviews from the TripAdvisor. We're not disappointed with the food. But, even on a Monday night after 7:30pm, we waited for half an hour to get a table for 2. We ordered Moh Hinga, Pork Curry with potatoes, Burmese Sour Leaf (Chin Mong Jaw)... More

This place is always delicious - I don't think you can go wrong with anything on the menu. The only downside is the very long lines during prime dinner time and on weekends. I frequently see long lines even at 10pm. We got very lucky taking visiting family here for a late lunch and snagged the only large table (for... More

This restaurant looks better on the inside than it would seem from the outside. And the food is super tasty! It is not so much that the food is spicy, but rather, the combination of flavors and textures that are unusual and balanced. For instance, the Tea Leaf Salad is presented with it's components in different quadrants of the plate... More
