Burmese food seems to be a cross between Chinese and Indian (unsurprising given its location?) which is good, but not good enough to justify the throngs of people who gather outside this place like it's Jesus Christ Superstar. more

Since this restaurant has such great food, the wait list is almost always extremely long. I will admit, I have walked away a few times because I was just too hungry to wait. It is worth the wait if you are patient because the tastes in there will make you very happy. My absolute favorite is the green tea salad.... more

The only downside to Burma Superstar is the wait. However, when you walk down the street in this area of San Fran, you pass a dozen or more Thai/Fusion type places that aren't crowded so you know Burma Superstar is the Bomb. I recommend going with a date or friend b/c trying to get a large table on the weekends... more

this place is phenomenal! everything i've had, and that's about the whole menu, is like an explosion of goodness in your mouth. be prepared to wait about an hour, but, they take your cell phone so you can go around and get your drink on while you wait. sweeeeet. more

The food was good and well-prepared, but I don't think it's worth as much hype. The wait was long, and when we were done they practically shooed us out. I could probably get other similar Southeast Asian food just as good with much less wait. I'd probably give it 3 and a half stars. more
