Though primarily founded during the Gold Rush, San Francisco really made a name for itself in the turbulent 60's. Political protests, the infamous "summer of love" and of course, the ground-breaking music scene all marked San Francisco as an important and pivotal locale for culture. And take it from us—this city with a past still makes the scene, today. Whether we're talking foot-stomping live music or another 6.5 on the Richter, San Francisco truly rocks! Back in the day hippies used to congregate at Haight-Ashbury, but these days the rockinest spot is the Hard Rock Cafe San Francisco. Where else can you eat the tastiest burger in town, trippin' out on groovy rock artifacts and treasures, while jamming to the most outta sight tunes? Our mind-blowing memorabilia collection featuring great locals is far out, man! Grateful Dead, Faith No More, Jefferson Airplane, Journey, Santana, Sly and the Family Stone, Vince Guaraldi… these are just a few of the local bands that made it big. Now you can get in on big action yourself with the Cafe that's rocking San Francisco! Here at Pier 39 we've got fab views of Alcatraz, the Golden Gate and Bay Bridges, the San Francisco Bay, and the City skyline, not to mention more than 110 stores, 11 full-service restaurants, and numerous fun-filled attractions. You can find the 45-acre, Pier 39 complex two blocks east of Fisherman's Wharf at Beach Street and The Embarcadero. So if you're going to San Francisco, be sure to stop by the Hard Rock Cafe.

Let me preface this by saying that I have not been impressed with this chain in the past. But, this restaurant blew me out of the water! My mother, my grandmother, and I went to lunch at Hard Rock Cafe on March 31st. We had a small bit of a wait, but that's understandable for Fisherman's wharf. We were seated... More

We had to wait a bit for a table outside, which was fine. Our server was great, though most of the others I saw just seemed to be going through the motions. Food came pretty fast and was good. Inside, it seemed as if there weren't enough servers working to cover the tables. There were several empty tables, despite a... More

as someone who has been to hard rock cafes all around the world, i found this one to be fairly average. the service was ok and the food was not anything to write home about, i found the worse thing about our visit to be the fact that when we asked our if we could have a song played by... More

Located at the near end of pier 39. We stopped in here for lunch after checking out the city. Not the most interesting Hard Rock we have been in but we enjoyed our time here and got a free gift from a coupon we found on the city map. Food and drinks were great as usual and the staff were... More

We have visited many Hard Rock Cafes all over the world and this is no doubt the worst. The place was dirty, run down and lacked atmosphere. The staff were a miserable lot who lacked personality and just didn't get or understand humour. The meals were disappointing, lukewarm and small portions- we didn't order starters as we thought the main... More

Recently visited with my girlfriend, we have been to 9 hard rocks around the world and this one was a disappointment. The atmosphere is a bit lacking for a hard rock but the one thing we have always had is great fun customer service. Unfortunately San Fran did not deliver, we were seated by someone that dropped the menus on... More

The Hard Rock at the bay is plain average compared to other establishments. The food and the service were below the average. Nothing special.

On our recent visit to the west coast and Nevada we went to several Hard Rock cafes mainly because our daughter wanted to buy the T shirts and of course to take a look at the memorabilia. Food and drinks was a distant third but as themed cafe's go the Hard Rock has stood the test of time.
