Tapas Galore

Best inexpensive tapas in San Francisco; also reasonably priced luncheon which includes soup and bread, main course and two sides. Atmosphere quaint and casual.

Great family restaurant, also nice for a birthday, anniversary or any kind of celebration. Affordable prizes and excellent authentic COMIDA ESPANOLA. In regards of location hard to find parking, but deserve the delicious food you are about to eat. Try mojos al ajillo and you would love the Sangria!!

Six of us came for a lunch of tapas to celebrate a birthday. We loved the food, especially the rabbit, potato tortilla and mushrooms. The sangria was perfect for the warm afternoon--Not too sweet. The only downside to this place is the horrific service. The waitstaff just never comes around. Plan on a long meal because you will be spending... More

Too bad we ordered to many starters olives, cheese (and ate too much bread) so we could not even eat half of the seafood paella that we ordered to share as a main course.

This is in a fairly sketchy part of the Mission but having been extremely lucky to find parking right out front, we enjoyed the meal. We had a few tapas of sautéed mushrooms-delicious-a strangely cut artichoke and wonderful Paella. It was quite large with lots of shellfish, fish, rice and saffron. The sangria was delicious. We were there early, before... More

I'm from Spain and not easy to find in the Bay Area a Spanish restaurant with that level of authentic Spanish cuisine. I found Esperpento by accident and have a great surprise. In Esperpento the paellas are delicious and there is a variety of very well served tapas. The 30 min wait for the paella to be cooked, is worth.

I found Esperpento on trip advisor as we were going to visit San Francisco for a few days and I wanted to plan one special dinner. The reviews for Esperpento caught my eye, most especially since it seemed to be an out of the way, highly popular place for tapas. We invited some family members to join us so we... More

This eclectic and modern tapas restaurant offers a nice honest food and has a very good sangria (to San Francisco). The atmosphere is a bit noisy and young with an appropriate decoration. Is located in the Castro neighborhood. which is being renewed every day

Our first time here, but we've of this place for quite some time. They have a nice list of choices for tapas and paellas. With Paellas, you need an hour's wait. Monday though is Paella day. We had sopa de mariscos, battered snapper and ropa vieja (beef, chicken and chorizo stew). All quite delicious. The tortilla de patata was very... More

If your olive oil and garlic levels are low, this is the restaurant for you. I ordered the vegetarian plate, hoping to avoid anything deep fried, but my veggies came with a lovely, breaded, deep-fried cauliflower sitting on top. Oh, well... the veggies were all delicious, but on the oily side. My companion had the fish of the day, and,... More
