Worthwhile.

This Indian restaurant, which has a deceptive and unremarkable street presentation, has a surprise for the casual customer. The interior is apparently modeled after a Maharajah dining room. The restaurant, by way of the owner, Ranjan Dey, makes much of the history of the restaurant when it... read more

I don't think I've ever eaten at an Indian place and not enjoyed the food - until now. Flavorless sauce (how is it possible, you may wonder), dry meat. It's like that joke from Annie Hall about the food being bad, and the portions being too small... The place itself is nice, but the staff is uninspired (they must know... More

Our concierge recommended this restaurant. The hostess was very friendly and seated us immediately. The menu isn't extensive but does have the usual favorites. We did notice that the owner has his own range of spices and a book and CD which is available for purchase. We ordered garlic naan, rice, chicken tikka masala, lamb rogan josh and prawns masala.... Being British we love Indian Food, so it's Friday evening and what could be better than an Indian Meal, and the New Delhi didn't disappoint. Service was great along with the food made this a great way to spend a Friday evening

Two visits in the last couple of weeks, but still could be in for some more:). Last time we chose a variety of dishes. Spicy vegetables, Paneer with spinach, Raitha, Naan-bread and a fantastic Murgh Akhbari with chicken. Service is good and caring, and the selection of wines as well. A must if you are longing for Indian food here... More

We visited New Dehli on our last night in San Francisco. After 5 fabulous nights and some pretty good meals, we wanted to eat near the Hotel Nikko so we could get started on our plans to head back home to North Carolina. The restaurant opens at 5:30 which prevented us us from eating there ay any other time during... More

Visited on a Saturday night, with no reservation. Managed to get a table immediately. Atmosphere was okay. Menu was standard with a couple of 'specials'. Service was a bit strange with starters arriving before drinks, and generally being rushed throughout. Overall a good restaurant, just too fast service

Good location near Powell Station and Union Square. Building and interior design are vintage and interesting. The crowd was mixed, locals and tourists. We had great Indian cocktails to start the dinner. The Pakora were not the best I have had (and I have had many) but the dips and sauces were yummy. The rice was delicious and my vegetarian... More

Claims to be a number one restaurant as per NY Times, very disappointing, claims to give validations for parking and the parking doesn't exist any longer.
