Perfectly situated in the Mission area, this restaurant offered the best vegan breakfast in SF by far. The selection of breakfast foods is excellent and the smoothies are the bester we've ever had. A must for any vegan in SF.

We came across this place as we were walking along the street searching for somewhere to eat. As a vegetarian and health freak I was delighted to come across the Herbivore! We were given a table straight away, food arrived quickly and the service was great. The food was delicious and great value, would definitely recommend. We walked from Castro... More

I love this place and have never been disappointed with the meals I get here. Every time I've visited San Fran, I make sure to get here as fast as possible and get my fix. This visit I got the ginger

I am not a vegetarian, but I have many vegetarian friends so I have sampled my share of vegetarian dishes. I must say that Herbivore menu is the best so far. The restaurant is a bit dark, but very casual. I felt comfortable there because it wasn't too loud, the area was clean, and there weren't that many people. I... More

This place is superb. They serve an eclectic mix of food- Italian, mexican, Thai, Asian and yet their preparations are superb and I dont think the meat eaters would ever miss the meat. Its also very casual setting and reasonably priced. We tried their Lasagna- which had tofu instead of cheese I could not believe how good it was. I... More

International menu selections, best vegan breakfast you can get anywhere, hands down. Casual, funky Mission District neighborhood.

Went to Herbivore in San Francisco for brunch and it was great. The only bad thing was trying to find parking on a Sunday. All vegan items were great from the scramble to the desserts. Our dsughterd thought thr crepes were a little too wet for their tastes but still ate them all.

Everything on their large menu looked delicious! Since there were several of us dining, we each ordered a couple different dishes and then shared. That way we got to try lots of the many foods offered. We LOVED everything from the appetizers and salads to the entrees! And made sure to order some dessert - it was delicious too!

A good place to eat if you enjoy organic vegetarian food. Humus, fajitas, sandwiches with plenty of nice and juicy vegetables, even a simple basmati rice are tasty. My daughter took a fresh blended Apple juice, yummy! Kind servers.

What we liked: 1) Gluten free options for the pasta (quinoa macaroni to replace regular penne pasta) 2) Thick chocolate shakes 3) Thick cream of zucchini soup. 4) Sauteed greens (kale) that came with the Lentil Loaf. Kale tends to be slightly bitter, but this was very tasty. What we would have preferred: a) Less soggy fries in their Chilli... More
