Good food. A little tight.

Too many options for me. The food was good but they run out of two plates we requested. Generous portions and delicious ginger lemonade. I tried vegan burger and was good.

In my two months in SF, I havent eaten in a better place as a vegetarian. This place is a gem for any vegan/vegetarian. All the dishes are amazingly cooked. Just ate there, so full, cant continue to write a review, im in heaven.

We had an apartment nearby and one of our group was vegan, so we tried out Herbivore. We were a group of 8 so it was good that they could fit us all in. Overall it was an interesting meal but a few flaws. A lot of stuff on the menu was out of stock (both food and drink) and... More

I wish TripAdvisor's 3-star review meant "good" and not "average," because I want to rate this restaurant "good." The service is very good. The variety on the menu is a vegan's dream. The prices are good. I just wish some dishes tasted better. Here's what I like on the menu: vegetable tofu scramble, grilled corn cakes, the ramen noodle soups,... More

As a vegetarian from the East Coast, the dining options in California are great! We stopped for lunch and were not disappointed. The menu is extensive and, even though it clearly says everything is vegan, I kept second guessing some of the menu items and felt compelled to confirm with the waitress. My wrap was good and my wife's stir... More

We had brunch on Saturday at Herbivore -- a 100% vegan breakfast/lunch/dinner restaurant in the Mission District. Suzanna had the Southwestern Tofu Scramble and I had the Combo Plate (Basil Pesto scramble plus a pancake). Both dishes were delicious though my scramble was a little too heavy on the salty pesto. One thing I appreciated (but perhaps others would not)... More

I eat exclusively vegetarian, so don't consider it "hippie" by definition, but this place is. And it is good. Had the lemongrass noodles and they smelled (and tasted) amazing. My husband had the mole "chicken" which was also really tasty. The service is friendly. They have a tiny patio out back that it nice, if there is space. Food comes... More

The cosy atmosphere is welcoming. Seating is clean, comfortable .. space for a good conversation. Service is swift, with a authentic smile. I had a soup with lasagne: they both were absolute tasteful, presented well at good temperature. Refill with water has been permanent with great attention. A place to come back ! All at good match value/ price.

I ate with great pleasure here. The tempeh burrito was fine. However for me they have a great deal of tofu, tempeh and seitan in their menu. I would prefer a bit more veggies like they do it in the Cafe Gratitude and abit less gluten products. It would be easy to use a corn wrap instead of a wheat... More
