Fantastic atmosphere and even better food

I have now been here twice and both times I have been lucky enough to sit on the patio. It's a very lively atmosphere and they always play a movie on the back wall. The service is pretty great- they seem to be attentive but not over-bearing. I love that their menu changes daily because you... read more

Sorry to say I've only been there for brunch, but if its any indication as to what lunch and dinner is like, a sure winner. Visiting our son in SF, from the East Coast, brunch at this place is a staple. He loves it for dinner with friends, schedules have not allowed us to try it for dinner. As restaurant... More

Had dinner here with a few friends last weekend. Very small portions. The server forgot salads we ordered and had already brought entrees. Left hungry after spending $620 for 6 people.

Very disappointing food and service. Overpriced! Sounds cool but NOT so. The pork chop had way way too much pepper. Our server disappeared from time to time.VERY noisy.

From start to finish this restaurant has every component of what makes a great restaurant. The ambiance is incredible (old movie theatre). We were seated immediately upon arrival. The seating is a little cramped and the room is a little noisey but these items become a mute point in the overall scheme of the dining experience. The service was both... More

Took a party of 8 to Foreign Cinema on a Monday evening. Place was packed (I suggest a reservation). Had appetizers and drinks. I suggest you try some of their specialty drinks ... waiter was great at suggesting various ones for our table. Food was terrific, found that some people actually watched the movie (James Dean flick). We were outside... More

Above all else, this place is a gem! A friend in Miami recommended it to me, so I tried it out. I wasn't particularly impressed on the commute there (via Bart). However, the place is amazing! The scallops were tasty, and the cheesecake is a MUST! Completely different dining experience. I'd definitely go back!

my husband and I were so impressed. From the moment we walked in we were greeted and seated promptly. Our waiter let us take our time and answered all our questions as the menu changes daily as it is all fresh, locally sourced. I has the Italian brined pork chop and my husband had the Kobe bravette BBQ --- melt... More

One of our favorites in SF, great food, unpretentious plating, "California" cuisine. We enjoyed the brandade, that came with a slight kick of jalapeño (I think) , Kobe beef, and swordfish. There is a very good wine list with great deals by the glass and 500ml carafes. Restaurant is very popular and booking is essential. Service wasn't quite is good... More

Nice atmosphere, with older movies playing on big screens without sound. Real classic movies which is fun! Good quality food and good staff. Especially the variety of starters impressed me! Location a bit of the standard grid in SF.
