If you want to come here you should consider to make a reservation, the place is packed!! As soon as you get in you enter to a different mood. It could be windy and cold outside but in the inside you feel like somewhere else. A remarkable staff and delicious food. The main courses are quite big, specially the chicken..... More

As part of brief weekend trip to the city, we made it out here one Spring night for a Saturday evening dinner for two. To say that the place was packed that night would be an understatement, every table was full with waiting patrons spilling out onto the sidewalk. We were fortunate enough to be seated quickly 'outside' in the... More

My daughter and I tried this restaurant last night. Outstanding food, service and ambience. Try the fried chicken or mixed grill. Both were exquisite. But I'd bet you can't make a bad choice here. To finish we split the goat cheese cheesecake with blueberry and cinnamon granola. We spent several minutes after dinner reminiscing about individual bites of food from... More

The fried chicken and pork chop were off the dial good. The outdoor patio was a little windy when we attended but the place was packed and everyone appeared to be having a good time. Definitely a place to visit.

Last week, I had the pleasure of a meal at Foreign Cinema, shared with old friends and a daughter who lives in the city. Every part of the meal, from appetizers through dessert, was wonderful. We enjoyed a variety of foods, mine being the sesame-crusted fried chicken, which is a favorite. Service was not as good as we've had in... More

The most variety in a trending restaurant Ive ever seen! What a remarkable staff waiting on us at every turn; we never had to ask for anything as they were so attentive. Many appetizers and small plates to choose from (fresh veggies, white beets, raw tuna, cod mashed into potatoes, etc) were in the 11-15 range, specialty cocktails are a... More

A prominent Northern California Winemaker recommended Foreign Cinema to us saying that he felt it was one of the most innovative restaurants in San Francisco with an interesting interior, great ambiance, and classic movies shown on the wall. He was definitely right! We visited Foreign Cinema this past Friday night to celebrate my wife's birthday. After walking through a dimly... More

From the street, you would not guess the amazing restaurant behind these big doors. We only got wine and oysters but service was good, food too and atmosphere just awesome. I have to say everything on the menu seemed delicious. A worth-it splurge.

Staying in Mission District

Neighborhood Profile
Mission District
From burritos to bicyclists, the Mission is the foundation for all things hip in the city. Cultural attractions, an independent arts community, sumptuous street murals and a high density of bars and cafes make this neighborhood a magnet for young people. While terrific inexpensive food is abundant, its top-of-the-line restaurants now compete with the city’s best for fashionable diners. Indulge as the locals do by heading to Mission Dolores Park, buy some ice cream, and savor one of the most diverse neighborhoods in the country.
