Description: Original Joe’s is the quintessential, classic San Francisco dining experience. A fabric of the City for 75 years, it is located in the heart of the historic and majestic North Beach, a mecca for natives, tourists, and culinary aficionados alike. Original Joe’s is the oldest of all existing Joe’s restaurants in the country and is the innovator of what is now nationally known as the “Joe’s Concept”. With its signature red leather booths, legendary smooth cocktails, and renowned Italian American menu, Joe’s has come to signify its own Northern Californian category of food and symbolizes classic Italian American comfort food at its finest.

We went to Original Joe's with friends and had a wonderful time. They offer both inside and outside seating. We chose to dining inside as it was late and starting to get cold outside. The bar was great - good service, great selection of beverages, friendly staff and fun people. The food was wonderful and a large variety of menu... More

We ended up at Joe's because the restaurant we wanted to dine in was closed, and I'm glad we did. The staff were welcoming and we were seated promptly (without a reservation). Both of my children had a half serve of spaghetti with meat sauce, my husband and I had clam chowder, mine with a side of vegetables, his with... More

l have been enjoying this place for decades. Always great food. On our last visit we shared the Chicken Cacciatore. At $23 it might seem spendy but it was enough for the two of us and oh, so delicious.

I had lunch at Joe's last Sunday. I had a table in the first room: this is a very uninformal one, with a huge TV and an annoying bell. Hope the senators - whose entusiastic letters fill the corridor wall - didn't get a table here ! I had a shrimp salad and famous Joe's hamburger (served with a large... More

Visited Original Joe's because a friend said he had wanted to do it for a while. We weren't disappointed. We were seated quickly, the service was excellent and the food was incredible. They make a burger on a french roll that was unbelievable, I only got a bite of that because I ordered the Chicken Parmesan, it came with a... More

Original Joe's is a landmark (even though they just recently opened up the North Beach location) and is what I would describe as a slightly more diversified Italian steakhouse. The steaks are quality, but if you're truly a steak person they might be a little disappointing. Not bad in any way, just not some of the higher end steaks that... More

On previous trips to Florida when the kids were younger the steaks were always out of this world so we have been trying to replicate the experience ever since. It took until now! My husband had the rib eye and I had the New York strip and they were perfect. The sides were perfect. The ambience was perfect. The decor... More

My husband and I were staying with a nephew and family who live in San Fran's Little Italy. They suggested this spot for brunch and it was easy to figure out why. Just a short walk from their condo through a lovely park and by a beautiful church. Restaurant overlooks the park. The vibe was exactly what I think of... More

First off whe we walked into the restaurant I thought we were gery under dressed as many of the servers were wearing suits and bow ties. Glacing around, I saw that diners were casually dressed as we were. This is definitely old school dining and service. If you are over 50 you will know what I mean. Leather banquette seating... More
