This is more of a locals place worth making the effort to get there. Let's face it nothing in San Francisco is too far. This is not located in the typical tourist areas but WOW what food. Everything we have had there is in the excellent category. Also a great bar and valet parking (which solves the ever present parking... More

We were looking for some good authentic Italian food and our Uber driver steered us to having lunch at little Italy. Specifically at Original Joes. The atmosphere was old San Francisco. I think this restaurant has been in business since 1937. Try Joes special and the meatballs. The salads were very fresh and tasty but you have to try the... More

We were steered towards this restaurant by some locals at a wine tasting. It was a short walk from our hotel so we decided to give it a try. We were there on a busy Sunday evening but were seated very quickly. The place had a great atmosphere and the service was smooth as well. I had a tasty order... More

We went here for Sunday early brunch because 1) good location 2) decent reviews 3) opened early and 4) offered lunch-type food as well as brunch food. This practical decision did not raise our expectations (except for the decent reviews) but we were very pleasantly surprised. We split the Italian donuts to start, yum! Fresh, light, not too sweet (and... More

My family (3 adults) was in San Francisco over Christmas and prior to visiting Original Joe’s had two very mediocre (yet very expensive) dinners. We were hoping this would be different and it certainly was. We were seated exactly at our reservation time and in a booth, as requested. The restaurant was very, very busy. The holiday decorations were very... More

My family, some extended family, and I all visited San Francisco for several days after Christmas. While walking through North Beach (Little Italy), we stumbled upon Original Joe's. As a party of 9 with no reservation, we weren't sure if they could fit us in. Luckily it was around 3:30 in the afternoon, and we were seated right away in... More

We all really enjoyed our dinner at this nice restaurant in San Francisco's Little Italy. Nice atmosphere - the Lasanga which is a house special was amazing - arguably the best any of us ever had. Great sauce on everything! Would definitely return. Tip: Make a reservation....

On our first trip to San Francisco, a helpful bartender recommended Original Joes for burgers and ravioli. Since the 4 of us had reservations for dinner at Pier 39 we shared an order of each. The burger was outstanding and ravioli was good but nothing special. Service was great and one of the best burgers I ever had make this... More

We were waiting for a table at Tony's Pizza Napoletana and thought we would have some drinks here. We walked up to the front of house where they stared at us without a smile or greeting. After we said hi and told them we would like a table for two, she said it would be an hour and a half... More
