We visited Original Joe's on a Sunday evening during our California trip in June. We booked ahead on opentable.com When we arrived, we were greeted by two friendly hostesses and then directed to our table right away. Good food here. The steamed mussels were big and delicious. My husband ordered the fish of the day which was a little undercooked.... More

We only provide a review if it's really good or really lousy. I'm pleased to say my wife and I dined at Joe's in early July (we're from Vancouver, BC) and found it to be a great dining experience based on food quality, atmosphere, AND value. We had the Antipasto plate as a starter and then shared the Spaghetti with... More

Had a great steak with twice baked potatoes. Portions are large. Came hungry and left full. The price is probably fair for the neighborhood but felt a little on the high side for what it was. Service seemed anxious to close out shifts but that was ok.

Our awesome host told us to venture to North Beach, take a look at the line for Mama's which can apparently take 2 hours to wait for a table. Stand there staring at the queue wondering why you would wait that long, and then walk across the road to Original Joe's for a great meal. Friendly and helpful staff, great... More

I had dinner here and when I went inside I was wondering how good it will be. No reservations. Big menu. Loud. Well, the food was out of this world and the service was friendly, helpful and fast. I has pasta with red sauce and a meatball and a sausage. I was amazed at how good it was and they... More

This was our very first dinner in SFO and we had been looking forward to the visit for weeks. We ordered $26 veal cutlet parmesan and the sauce was terrible, salty and very acidic. Ditto for the chicken parmesan. I expected the waiter to ask if there was anything wrong when he saw I only ate a couple of bites,... More

At Jackson Square there are many restaurants to choose and from and my husband and I (from Boston, MA area) made the right decision. Original Joe's was an experience with leather seats and '60's motif and our waitress originally from Massachusetts, we had a really fun time. Reasonably priced and great food, it's a great choice!

Red banquettes, lots of easy private seating, LARGE cocktails at reasonable prices and great food. I usually have a char broiled dressed hamburger on a french roll. SO GOOD. The clam chowder is one of the top three in San Francisco. What ever you order they do it damn well. Imagine: A restaurant with none of the other guests sitting there... More

I come here quite often and came last night for dinner. As usual, the place was packed. We sat down after a 15 minute wait, the hostess was sweet and nice as come be. I always order the artichoke dip because its the best I've had and my friend ordered the house salad. We also had the chicken and hamburger... More
