A fabric of the City for 75 years, it is located in the heart of the historic and majestic North Beach, a mecca for natives, tourists, and culinary aficionados alike. Original Joe’s is the oldest of all existing Joe’s restaurants in the country and is the innovator of what is now nationally known as the “Joe’s Concept”. Original Joes' is my personal favorite place to grab a meal in San Francisco. Locals have been coming here for years and years. It is a busy place but the service is still excellent. On this occasion I had the Cobb Salad...(next time I will have Italian as you can get a good Cob Salad just about anywhere.) My sister... More

A big restaurant that was quite noisy, super efficient with tasty food. I had the burger which was amazing and hubby had the porterhouse which was meltingly good.

we went here based on online reviews and Fodor's recommendation. The service was very good and the menu is decent, but we didn't feel it was truly "Italian". Our food came out in 3-4 minutes after we ordered including my husband's lasagna, so we knew it was all pre-cooked and just warmed upon ordering. it is load, and has a... More

This place was KILLA! It was a pleasant night and they were able to seat us outside. The pasta was all house made and the sauces were insanely good. I had the Orecchiette with Broccoli Rabe and Italian Sausage. I usually dont go with pasta, but this just sounded great. When I ordered it the waitress said I was in... More

We have been at this restaurant several times with the food and service being very good, but the noise level was horrendous to the point of not being able to hear our table partners.

The food, service and atmosphere was very good. There is a broad selection on the menu and portion sizes are quite large with complementary bread so don't bother with appetizers unless you're rediculously hungry. We booked online which is easy via their website and will certainly go again

When we got to Original Joe's, it was full and the only seating was at the Kitchen counter, so we opted to do that instead of a long wait. It was so fun!! We watched the very amazing kitchen crew as they hurriedly whipped out dish after dish right in front of us! It was unbelievable how fast they could... More

It was a Wednesday night and we had no reservations so my wife and I decided to wing it. We dropped into an Italian restaurant on Columbus and ordered drinks at the bar while waiting to see if a table would open up. The bartender gave us menus to look over. We decided their offerings were not for us and... More

I was mid-way through a walk about and needed grub. I wales from Crissy Field to north beach. I did a few minutes of research on various menus and decided I wanted pasta rather than brunch. I walked into the bar at Joes and was not disappointed. I had the ravioli with meat sauce. It was delicious. The sauce was... More

Nice place, good service, great food. Parking is a chore but that is to be expected. We used the valet and it cost $15 (included a $5 tip) but well worth the expense.
